The War Along the Nile Series (2 Viewers)

"From the Banks of the Clyde to the Banks of the Nile 1801"

The Black Watch was in Egypt in 1801 and participated in the Battle of Alexandria against Napoleon's Nile Expedition on March 21, 1801.

Great shot, Randy. Superb composition and excellent and modest use of photoshop.:)

Thanks for posting these, Ken. Striking poses - I can't wait to see the painted versions.

Some quick questions:

Will these scale with the Jenkins Sudan figures?

Will you/these be at the West Coaster? Is W. Britain having an event like K&C is?

Thanks again,

Mark

That is all for now!

Hi there...
Here are some quick answers for you!
I took a look at John's new offerings for the Sudan and I think they are pretty close and with careful placement you probably can use them together.
By the way the death of Gordon is very nice!

I will not be attending the West Coaster this year but Richard Walker will be there with the new Britains products. There probably will be few if any of the pre production Sudan products to show however... They are all in pre production at the moment. Make sure you stop by to chat with him if you are attending.

As for special events we will probably only have a Collector's Club event at the Williamsburg show, and of course the UK event in December. Richard and I have been doing small special events at dealers and historic sites for the past few years ... watch for details.

Thanks for your interest!
Ken Osen

I see that there is a War Along the Nile section now on the WB web site, but no sets shown yet. I suspect we'll see something soon.

I received a "shipment" notification from First Gear for my Collector's Club membership renewal last friday. Since I entered that transaction in december I was wondering if that means that the "Standard" and "catalogue" might be in that shipment? Maybe just the Standard.
Can't wait to get a look on "War Along The Nile" and any "Classics" news.
Konrad

I don't collect Ancient Egypt but since I am collecting the Anglo-Sudan War I thought I would add this K&C Nubian Slave in Egyptian service since in the 19th C the Sudan was a "colony" of Egypt and Sudanese (Nubians) were often taken into military service by the Egyptians. For me it adds a little historical perspective to the Colonial Wars.

I definately want those CAMELS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been brushing up on my history in preparation :D

These are some amazing looking figures. Very well done. I will be wanting to get some of them.

Gentle Friends,

Darn it! :( Just when I think I have successfully limited myself to only three lines of figures, W. Britains has to come along and issue these beauties! While I want to wait and see these figures in the flesh, I fear I will not be able to resist them! Oh, well. I guess there are worse things in life than enjoying a new line of figures.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

Great series!
I wonder if it is planned to produce different kneeling camel figures?
