In checking with Shannon and Pete I've been told that other than the recent photos my have been lost. So what I've decided to do is create a new thread begining with the Battle of Isandlwana and on to Rorke's Drift featuring photos from "Creating the Battle" along with others I'll be takeing along the way. Once again they'll feature figures from Trophy Ltd., Conte, Little Legion, Britian, ANI and KINGKAST along with my painted figures. The war begins with Conte's Zulu starting the attack at ISANDLWAN....The Lt.

Captain C.W. Cavaye company on the spar continues to fire on the advancing Zulus and is soon supported by another company sent by Colonel H.B. Pulleine and commanded by Captain W.E. Mostyn. Not having any cavalry I'm hoping to get some support from Damian with his during the battle. The figures are from Trophy, Little Legion, ANI with an Officer from Tradition......The Lt.

Unfortunately for the hapless Peulline the scene I display is when the Zulu chest has already borken through the firing line and is in the camp. Te quartermaster refuses to resupply teh runner from Durnfords Basuthos and the dashing engineer is himself facing his end. The guns try to make a break for it along the fugitives trail but the Zulu horns are closing fast. Alas I don't think many will make. But wait there are two men Cluthching the coloure yes it is the indomitable Melville and Coghill about to ride for their lives and into Valhalla. What will happen to the lone mission station at Rourkes Drift where two lowl officers of engineers and a detchament of teh 24 th regiment of foot are kicking their heels.

As the battle progresses Captain Wardell commanding H Company is now engaged with the advancing Zulus. Conte's Matte finish 24th Foot enters the battle against Trophy's ZULUS. Opps how did Sir Michael Caine get into this phot I thought he was at Rorke's Drift......The Lt.

Huh bunch of pansies those zulus. When I was their age you wouldn't see me dieing all over the place. No sir, we'd get up and go die somewheres proper we would. Not like today. Just going around dieing. It isn't proper says I.

Pansies is not generally a term that springs to mind when you meet real Zulus. I can assure you of that

Opps how did Sir Michael Caine get into this phot I thought he was at Rorke's Drift......The Lt.

One or more of Gonville Bromhead's brothers were in the 24th Foot in Zululand, perhaps it is one of them who closely resembles Gonville (Caine)?

And if you tell that to todays youth, they won't believe you!

Realizing that he had a major battle on his hand Brevet Lieutenant Colonel Henry Pulleine sends his last company of the 24th under the Command of Captain Younghusband to cover the retreat of Mostyn and Cavaye and to order them to fall back. The Lt.

Hey Lt., great pics again. I lost your photos also. I hope to be posting some pics of my Airbourne and German Contes. Watch out for the horns. The Zulus are just counting your guns. As we know, those solders are out numbered and doomed. If you could go back in time like the Time Tunnel show, the stubborn British officers would not listen any way. Battle on Lt. Mike.

Mike the battle continues as a few members of the 1/24th dash off with ammo to get back to their units. While others of the 24th are struggling to get back to the main camp and it's doubtful that their going to make it. Mike looking foward to your photos can't wait to see them......The Lt.

Supporting The Kilted Vampires ZULUS. The Zulus now in the main camp start to take their toll as an officer gathers a small band of defenders around him with no chance of survival. A private faces off against the on coming Zulus as another struggles to carry a comrade to safety as a butcher and a Natal Native face off against the swaming Zulus.....The Lt.

A wounded private of the 1/24th is soon to come to his end as a Zulu wearing a comrade tunic is in for the kill. In the mean time a Colour Sergeant is the faces the same faith as he's surrounded by Zulus. An Officer along with another Colour Sergeant and the remainer of his company are soon to lose their lives. Lieuteant Colonel Pulleine unlike in the Movie Zulu Dawn fights along side of what remains of his Battalion until the end as Colonel Durnford faces his last stand...The Lt.
