Greetings Steve from San Francisco on my journey back to Hong Kong…

Re your delightful and poignant representation of our beloved ‘Sceptred Isle’ in the dark days of 1940…

Don’t you find it strange that during those dark days following the evacuation of the British Expeditionary Force from Dunkirk our brave little island managed to hold back Hitler and his victorious Wehrmacht against all odds!

All the best mate,
Andy.

All the best mate,
Andy.

It was partly in my mind when I did this little scene Andy and remembering the sacrifices that generation and those of previous generations made, yes it makes me feel sick to think of all the brave lads of the allied nations, who faced the Nazi's and Japanese and who would be spinning in their graves in disgust with what is allowed to happen now.
I would go on but I'm sure I'm getting in the way of some woke troll, wanting to have the thread silenced !

That’s such an iconic backdrop Steve with the lone figure telling the story. Robin.

Very good Steve :salute::.....and I fully agree with the comments from you and Andy {bravo}}

All the best

It brought a smile to my face, which I needed.

Thanks Steve!

Thanks Robin, Martyn and Ben for the positive comments 👍🏻

Gentle Friends,

Unfortunately, the discussion has significantly deviated from Steve's photo. The conversation has now become one in which strong political opinions are being exchanged. As you know, politics is a taboo subject on the forum. Therefore, I am closing this thread.

Thanks, Steve, for sharing your excellent and thought-provoking photo with us.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)
