Here's the April newsletter I received.

Carlos

Dear Gunn Club
Apologies for the delay but I have been waiting on prices for the latest sets to be sent to me and really thought there was no point in sending a newsletter without these! Anyway good things come to those who wait so without further ado here we go!

FJ006 Cold Steel available in 200 Normandy and 100 Tropical version, comprises of a German FJ about to finish off a British Paratrooper with the bayonet or is he? Our brave Tommy reaches quickly for his sidearm but only you can decide who wins this showdown! Priced around $58 or £45 in the European VAT zone these 2 figures still represent excellent value for money compared to some other manufacturers!
FJ007 Medic comprises an FJ orderly checking for a pulse on what looks like a very dead comrade! Once again available in 200 sets Normandy and 100 Tropical version these are bound to sell quickly as to my knowledge these have never been made before in 1/30th scale. Once again same prices as above and once again very good value for money!

Moving on we announce a new range called ‘The Naughty Forties’ which delves into the off duty world of the armed forces! We plan to have a whole host of scenarios within this range including a downstairs boudoir interior, musicians and staff that would frequent one of these places. The exciting thing about this project is you can have many different nationalities relaxing together on the premises and I think the possibilities could be endless with this one.

NF001 Comprises a US sailor with exotic lady relaxing together on a couch discussing ‘the forthcoming deal’ with only 200 sets of the New York 1940 and 100 of the Pearl Harbour version available soon. Priced at around $69 this series is going to appeal to the collector who appreciates a little glamour in his displays!

LUFT001A: Well after what seems an eternity the A version of our FW190 finally lands next week along with all of the above. Just 140 have been made and as stated before theres no plans on making another aircraft soon so get this one whilst you can! Armin Faber was the unlucky German pilot who landed by mistake in Wales after a dogfight over the UK and was promptly captured shortly after landing. This aircraft would therefore look good in any Axis or Allied dio and at approx $155/£115 is a steal for an aircraft of this quality. We have taken on board all comments about packing after the Tropical version had its fair share of problems and I sincerely hope that with the extra packing now supplied we will not have any major problems with breakages.

OK so that’s it for this months releases and now onto the London show! From the feedback received from Maison Militaire all the new sets were very well received with plenty of pre-orders coming in on the day. Most of you will know that we previewed our new SS cavalry and our Krupp truck as well on the day. The first 2 SS Cavalry figures will be for sale in May with the other 4 available in June along with the Krupp truck, I have no prices for either but will hopefully have details of these in Mays newsletter.

Dealers your trade price list will be out tomorrow!

Signing off for now!

Thomas Gunn

Ok my order is just the Normandy medic. Will wait a little to see how the 40's series pans out, very interesting. My dollars held back for May/June Normandy cavalry & Kruppe. Cheers, Robin.

I'm waiting for the german cavalry due out in May and June. Tom did it again! Ron

The SS horsemen are my favourites.

Wonder if photos of those Naughty 40s will be allowed here...

I think they appear to be far more classy than the LAH stuff but that is my opinion only. While this series could potentially run into some really seedy issues, I have full faith that TG will leave a lot to the imagination. After all, I'd like to continue to buy my TG figures from Stan in Gettysburg, not Larry Flynt's place on the block in Baltimore. {sm4}{sm3}

Those German mounted figures are really beautiful. I will probably snag the Medic and the vignette with the Tommy and Fritz is really nice. VERY well done TG!!

Chris,

In this society, very few people look askance at violence and tolerate it, but when it comes to sex, everybody gets their shorts all knotted up and start screamin "Oh...my...god!!!!"

Which is more harmful however?

I'm with you 100% on this one, Brad. Our society is insanely puritanical about sex, but you can show graphic violence without any complaints whatsoever. Strangely enough, I've read the bible more than a few times (I actually studied religion and canon law in Rome while studying abroad in College) and I can recall Jesus condemning the living daylights out of violence, but never once getting upset over sex. Indeed, as I recall, when Mary Magdalene (whom tradition, although not the text of the gospels, indicates was a prostitute) was washing his feet with her hair, and the disciples got all upset about it, Jesus told them to relax.

Look at it this way: would you rather your son or daughter was having sex with or killing random strangers? I'll take sex over violence every day and twice on Sunday.

Thanks for the great pics. Looks like the German cavalry are a "must Have" on my list !!!

I love the Sunday part...^&grin, Now seriously, couldn't agree more about the sex vs violence, guess sometimes we lawyers do think similarly...{sm4}

Yes, back to the releases and sorry for taking this off topic :redface2:

There are some interesting poses here, particularly the one with the German soldier and the para.

It's funny, the cavalry figs were'nt "pulling my trigger" when I first saw them. Now I see where they would nice to have in the collection. They look great.
