THE PACIFIC!
The final section of this months newsletter is dedicated to some new USMC figures, which are a similar size to the ones on offer from K&C and will compliment them in a diorama should you decide to place together.
USA014; An American officer kneels down observing the fall of shot through a pair of binoculars. Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40 per figure.
USA015; A USMC soldier prepares to insert ammunition into the 37mm cannon with his carbine lying next to him, useful just in case the Japanese infantry make a counter attack or a sniper is spotted! Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40 per figure.
USA016; The final release of our USMC figures is the 3rd crewman for the M3, who adjusts the elevation and depression of the 37mm cannon as his commander finds a fresh target. Also comes with carbine as per attached photos. Limited to 100 in number and priced at $40 per figure.
ACC PACK030; The 37 mm Gun M3 was the first dedicated anti-tank gun fielded by United States forces in numbers. Introduced in 1940, it became the standard anti-tank gun of the U.S. infantry with its size enabling it to be pulled by a jeep. However the continuing improvement of German tanks quickly rendered the 37 mm ineffective and by 1943 it was being gradually replaced in the European and Mediterranean theatres by the more powerful British-developed 6 Pounder cannon. In the Pacific, where the Japanese tank threat was less significant due to the lighter armour fielded by Japanese tanks, the M3 remained in service until the end of the war.
Like many other light anti-tank guns, the M3 was widely used in the infantry support role and as an anti-personnel weapon, firing high-explosive and canister rounds. Our 37mm cannon comes with a variety of 9 x different shells and 2 x ammo boxes to complete your diorama.
Price TBC early next week. The US Dodge Jeep seen at the London show end of March will be available next month and will be a useful accessory piece to complement the M3 cannon.
