Huzzah George! Some great pics you are sharing with us this evening - as always.

Mike

Thanks for looking Mike and for the feedback; look for a boatload of ACW and Napoleonic pictures in the near future.

Hope to see you at OTSN again this year..........

Nice shots George, I like the grass. I could picture that grass mat rolled over something to make a hill and a bunch of British troops waiting hidden in it for the french Guard troops to reach its creast! only to be mowed down.

George

Darn it! You've got my attention again:D

Sterling stuff as always-you can almost smell the black powder drifting across that wheatfield

Reb

George, great stuff! Is that a grass mat you use for the wheatfield?

Jeff

Thanks for the feedback everyone; Reb, praise from you, the ACW master, is very much appreciated.

The "grass" is actually "teddy bear fur", which you can buy at any fabric store. I buy it in 2 foot by 2 foot sections, then I "dye" it with craft paint, rubber gloves and many comb throughs so it does not matt down. As Fish pointed out, the beauty of the matt is you can put foam sections under it to give the appearance of hills, (Fish, you nailed me good as I am going to do a MASSIVE French Cavalry charge at Waterloo diorama soon and use the technique you suggested!!).

As far as the flags, aren't they spot on? They are made by a great guy here in the US called ironically enough "The Flag Dude" and they are superb. The lads from TM Terrain carry his flags over in the Uk and he does them for 15mm, 20mm and 28mm figures and I have told him to do them for 54mm figures, they'd be a HUGE hit................

Great effect with the teddy bear fur, it works really well for tall grass or grain.

"The Flag Dude"-I think I saw him, does he set up at the wargamer show in Lancaster? Maybe not the same one I'm thinking of, but he had paper, and I think, cloth flags, too.

Prost!
Brad

"Great effect with the teddy bear fur, it works really well for tall grass or grain." Thanks Brad, it's the perfect height for 20/28mm figures, they have it in longer lengths too.

"The Flag Dude"-I think I saw him, does he set up at the wargamer show in Lancaster? Maybe not the same one I'm thinking of, but he had paper, and I think, cloth flags, too." That was him, he'll be at Historicon too...........

Prost!

Great stuff George. I can also smell the smoke. Weren't you going to do some massive Napoleonic scenes as well soon? Look forward to more.

Thanks Bill and thanks for coming to the show last weekend; I am working on British Infantry, cavalry, artillery as well as Dutch/Belgians, Nassau troops and Brunswick forces as well for a large Waterloo diorama, will keep you posted.................will be doing some large ACW battles soon too as I finished up about 500 figures, 24 guns with crews, some more fields and buildings, etc.........
