Thrown From My Camel - 1918 (1 Viewer)

Great use of a mere handful of figures! There is so much going on.

This really is very good Jack, love the detail and the theme...........even though I was expecting another sort of Camel{sm4}

Begorrah, 'tis from the "drome at Derry" ta be sure! See, only one lump. :)

Nice one Jack

Agreed Toddy, I was expecting to see a flea ridden four legged variety, but instead pleasantly viewed what was presented! Well done Marty, love the lighting and the pranged sopwith is a gem!

No need to blush Jack , Title, dio, they FIT, you are becoming a master

This is really creative......taking a figure (the wounded pilot) and building a scene around him that is totally unexpected, but from items most all of us have in our collections. I love seeing what each of us can do differently with the same stuff. Certainly better than lining them all up on a shelf in a row in the at ease pose. Keep the ideas coming

Walt Damon ( now where do I find a damaged plane to do the same, at the least possibe cost??)

Brilliant camel dio. One of the most creative I have seen.

Wherever did you get the Camel. The damage is well done and very realistic. As is the ground in the dio.

The trick is to steadfastly refuse to throw anything out. The Camel sat at the bottom of a box for over twenty years before getting the call. My father is the model maker and he has another damaged Camel in much better nick that will make an appearance shortly. Despite clear instructions to desist, my mother the compulsive cleaner, aired his model room by throwing windows open in order to, as she later explained, circulate the air in the room. To show that some aircraft are indeed born to fly, the only thing that attempted to circulate the room was the Camel.

The inspiration for the diorama was an awareness that I could not compete with some of the work on the Forum so whatever I attempt - often in cooperation with my father - is a very conscious attempt to be different. He is working on an Austo Hungarian naval version of the Eindecker which, I can confidently say, will be the best one on the Forum!
