I remember Space 1999 and UFO by the Andersons with live action actors that were puppet like.

He did make some great stuff, Captain Scarlet was another good one and also Joe 90.

I caught a commercial for Super Car while visiting in New York in 1961-2. It didn't get up to the Boston area until years later then Comedy Central ran it for adults.

I can't remember the name of the one that took place underwater with the beautiful mute mermaid.

That "supermarionation" was wacky stuff. I can only imagine what it's like for to watch that on a bad drug trip. There was also a show called Fireball XL5 with a catchy theme song.
