Looks great Sammy, I kinda regret not getting that model when I had the chance.

The Figarti late production Tiger I shows up on eBay regularly at fair prices. I purchased mine last Xmas for $185.00, turret number 222; which I consider equivalent in quality to the First Legion iteration at twice the price!

This Figarti Tiger Tank was excellent and sold at a very fair and reasonable price:salute::

Figarti Tigers are simply different to First Legions, one is not better than other, each has strong and weak points...anyway both are much better than KnCs

Figarti Tiger I late production #222 has more subtle paint and Zimmeret than the FL iteration IMO.
I suppose it is just a matter of taste but I prefer the Figarti as it is more realistic to my eye and so is the price!

I like both Company's Tigers, I have nearly all of Figarti and 2 FL's. However, I also think K&C's AK Tiger is pretty nice too, so I don't necessarily agree that "much better than K&C's" K&C made a ton of tigers over the years, I think as is everything, it is individual preference. I also don't compare a WS 15 tiger that was made many many years ago to a FL tiger made this year. Technology, sculpting, market demand is much different. You tend to compare apples to oranges when you make generic statements like the above and it is a disservice to other newer members reading the forums.

Hi
Sure that was my humble opinion, which only was based to comparing items like:
-radiator grilles
-roadwheels
-tracks
-hatches
-sideskirts
-drive sprockets
-commanders coupola
-spare tracks
-tow hooks
-smoke grenade discharges
...to name a few :rolleyes2:

No offense and continue to roll your eyes, but you just listed a number of items that I personally don't notice nor care. I like the AK Tiger because of war theater, quality and look on my shelf. I like the original Winter Tiger b/c of the scene created. There is a lot that goes into people's preferences other than radiator grilles, drive sprockets, tow hooks, etc.

As a general rule, I have found that opinions are plentiful, but they are not necessarily shared by everyone. And before any barbs are thrown about differences in collections, my disclaimer is that I have every kind of model from a price point standpoint to detail standpoint, etc and I like them all, or they would not be in my collection. So, my opinion is not coming from a novice but I buy what I like.

Polystone panzers are not the best if you are interested in detail and accuracy. Modern plastic kits are far superior. A prebuilt prepainted Tiger I is available from VsTank that is the equal of the 1/24 scale kits in terms of detail and it has working tracks and suspension. The 1/24 scale works well with the larger 68mm pewter figures being made today. The paint and Zimmerit are as well done as Figarti or First Legion IMO.

As the last Figarti Tiger like the Minichamps model are command tanks while First Legion's and K&C's are regular combat tanks, the reference to apples and oranges is correct in my opinion.

I prefer Figarti Tigers and Panthers....( and FL Tigers but they are someone pricey) .. I also have a few older K/C Tigers wich are polystone and lack detail ....Both FL and Figarti have more detail, better tracks and scale accuracy is more reliable....Sorry but that's just the facts.

I have the TCS Arnhem Tiger I in my collection of Tigers; it came out when the K&C Tunisian Tiger I was released about 2009. Both Tigers are the same scale; but the detail of the TCS is far superior.
metal screens, all hatches open and close, realistic sprockets and tracks, Zimmerit and the crew figures are excellent. One of the best Panzers TCS has made, equal or better than the K&C Tiger I's.
Shows what can be accomplished in polystone!

A reference for Tiger I size is: Actual Size OAL 332" Hull Length 247" Width 145" Height 118". Divide by 30=Scale Size OAL 11" Hull Length 8.23" Width 4.875" Height 3.9".

The Figarti Tiger I late production model is the most accurate 1/30 scale Tiger I that I have measured to date. OAL 11.25" Hull Length 8.5" Width 8.5" Height 3.875"

The TCS Tiger I mid production model measures 1/29 scale. OAL 11.5" Hull Length 8.5" Width 5.0" Height 3.875" The HB and K&C Tiger I models are about the same size.

I will be happy to post the the ED Tiger I scale if someone will post the dimensions. The ED Panzer II & III were an accurate 1/30 scale. I would be surprised if the ED Tiger I is significantly oversize!
Since the main comparison is the FL Tiger I model; its dimensions would be useful as well.
