I wonder if any of my American friends can give me their opinions here. Why is it when it comes to Toy Soldiers that two of the most if not THE most important and famous Wars in US History, American Revolution and Civil War just don't seem to be as popular as the second World War?.

Rob

Dear Rob

Well, I am not Amercian but if I may say so. :D

I collect NAps, AWI, FIW and ACW .. for me, the kind of TS we have here bring out the color & peagantary of the military in these eras. I particulary like cavalry figures.

Its not that I have no interest in WWII .. but I get my WWII fixes from other scales 1/72 for aircraft & AMVs and 1/1200 for ships. I even used to do 1/6 figures .. but for any particular units or theatre, a small section was all I could manage and dio building in a display cabinet was virtually impossible.

i prefer my pre 19th century figures to be glossy. as for kc i am really anticapating a fock wolf and i have to play catch up on my british dday figures

Hey OD,yes I must admit as a WW2 collector that the colours in the Naps,AWI and ACW are very attractive, wish I had the money to collect them all.I also used to collect 1/6th figures from Dragon, but as you say they took up way too much room and now reside in my loft.

Top of my want list is the RAF ambulance plus the Spitfire we all know will be coming sometime this year!

Craig

Hey Craig, with the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain this year there should be some great releases, just got to find some extra money now;)

Sorry guys I lapsed into Cockney there didn't;).I did of course mean your own particular unique national currency...mmmm I think Dosh was snappier!:D;)

I am really looking forward to the RAF releases. Hopefully we will get some vehicles to go along with the ambulance. Maybe a fuel truck? I also want some more Arnhem. I am beginning to believe that Capitolron may have been right:eek:! Any new German Armour will be a nice addition as there currently aren't any Tiger Is or Panthers available from K&C.

there are a number of series needing my attention in this poll, but keep coming back to where it all started for me some 4-5 years ago...being Ancient Egypt, still so many exciting colourful figures can be added to great range and K&C have the flair to produce them, here's hoping. Cheers, Robin.

We have not seen a new boat for some time so how about a PT boat?

If interest truly exists in a ‘boat’ let’s consider something within scale and not overwhelmingly expensive. Perhaps a WWII British (Australian) Cockleshell Canoe, with a single ‘commando’ in the canoe with a paddle or the IR receiver that was used to spot the mother submarine, and another 'commando' standing beside the canoe in full underwater kit holding a limpet charge, or silenced sten machine carbine. Certainly fits as the COPPISTs just prior to D-Day, the Cockleshell Heroes Raid up the Bordeaux River, and the Australian raids against Japanese shipping. The reference materials are out there which could insure accuracy, and the total set should not be that expensive. Just a thought. Hope this doesn't get lost down here in the thread.

Thats sounds a great idea. really would like to see this commando stuff released. It would also be very affordable
