Yes I heard that its back, but only on pay TV.... so I'll have to wait for Free To Air broadcasts... next year in OZ (I hope)

Is this a spinoff from "Dr Who" ?

Yes, with that Captain who first appeared in the two episodes where they were in London during the Blitz with the little boy brought back from the dead by the nanobots. Those were my favorite episodes from the modern Dr. Who series . . . "just this once, everybody lives!":wink2:

I like Torchwood very much.^&cool

Aparently this new series is to be start of in the U.S. because the H.Q. in Cardiff was destroyed at the end of "Children of Earth". I must admit I'm quite looking forward to it. Not that I'm a geek or anything, oh O.K. maybe I am!^&grin Also Matt Smith is growing on me as the new doctor.

I don't know if anybody saw Torchwood's 5 part mini-series Children of Earth but it is excellent.

Liked they had all the British actors. Raise your hand if you want a Dr. Who Cameo....my arm is now tired.

On an unrelated note Who has seen the British series Sherlock? Jeremy Brett is still IMO the best Sherlock but the New British series is very good and written by one of the writers from Dr. Who.

I bought the first season of Sherlock on DVD. I loved the idea of Holmes and Watson in present day London, and can't wait to get my hands on the next season once it comes out on DVD.

I'm in two minds about Sherlock. I know others have their favourites but to me Jeremy Brett will always be the best and not forgetting David Burke, who was probably the first actor to realise that if Watson had been a bumbling idiot (as he's usually portrayed) then he wouldn't have survived the north west frontier or been a friend to Sherlock Holmes. But then it's good to see some well written and acted programmes made in the U.K. we've had a lot of rubbish over the past few years!
