Toy Soldier Model & Figure Magazine #248 (1 Viewer)

No 249 yet, I don't understand *** is going on. I am still really pissed about Issue 248. They should have printed it. Complete and utter BS. What I find funny is if you go there to buy an individual issue - go to 248 and it says Print Run sold out. HORSECRAP, there never was a print run.

I could not have said it better Tom...

Go Tom mate, bring it on,

A nice bit of passion in this thread is great. I am still waiting for my PRINT copy of Issue 248 and heaven knows what happen to Issue 249. Now all I need is my good mate George (Warrior) to jump on this thread and show his great enthusiasm for a battle of an injustice landed on regular subscribers.

Cheers from the Land Down Under, Howard

Reading issue #248 while sitting on the throne in the lavatory is going to be quite a challenge apparently...……………:wink2:^&grin^&confuse:salute::{sm4}

I have a number of older customers who subscribe to the magazine and do not own computers, they depend on the magazine in order to keep up with new releases via reviews and manufacturer and dealer adverts, one of my customers specifically places orders with me based on the figures I feature in my ad.

So much for that...…….so franks and beans for me then for awhile...……………..and back to the throne I go...………….{eek3}

Does anyone have a digital subscription? Maybe they could print it out.I don't know if you could print it out as the company may have some kind of safe guard on it and I don't know if they even allow it,copy right and all that taken in consideration.

I've subscribed since the beginning, but frankly, I'm at the point where I might just let my subscription lapse. I get the magazine and get through it in about 10 minutes. There's really not much content in it anymore that interests me, since I don't buy finished figures or plastic figures. And I have to store it.

I used to get Toy Soldier Collector, but my subscription ran out. When I tried to contact their US rep about renewing, he never replied. So I decided to just let that one go.

Prost!

I just received issue 249, in print. These times are trying on many manufacturers of all kinds.

I did print 248 on my computer, so I can sit on my throne and read. It is so easy to criticize and comment negatively when you are not at the helm to help. I know Stuart was very upset when 248 was not printed, but he continues to continue forward to help keep this hobby alive.

Congratulations Stuart & Guideline.

….help me understand, the readers/subscribers want 248 to be printed and they are upset, Stuart wants 248 to be printed and is upset...why is 248 not printed???

TS&MF is published by Ashdown Publishing, which publishes numerous magazines. I suppose they make the call on what gets printed, not the editor. I did see this on the Ashdown web page"
"Shout it from the rooftops. Put out the flags. Write a message in the sky. All our magazines are now back in print. Hurrah to that."

I know Stuart personally too and this is not a knock on Stuart. It was a pure cop out not to print 248. I call BS when I see it and this is BS. There is no defense to this. Like any other magazine, they would have simply delayed the printing. They all did.......................except this one. They took an out and made up $$$ by not printing it.

And while I am happy 249 is on its way, I am not giving Kudos to a magazine who DID NOT fulfill their subscriptions by NOT printing 248. BS BS BS. Call it for what it is.

There is nothing personal in calling on a Company to FULFILL the subscription they sold.

YUUP and when I emailed the Ashdown rep...........................no address to this. They have skipped over it completely and they want it to go away. That is pretty normal when a Company falls flat on an issue. They figure if they keep their head down and ignore it, it goes away.

I am sorry, but trying to make this personal is hogwash. They struck out, made a crappy decision and the only ones paying for it are their subscribers.

I get the digital version of Wargames Illustrated and they have printed copies also but they didn't print a copy or 2 also due to Covid .

Mark,
that may be true, but every other subscription I have simply sent an email notifying me of the delay, but not to worry, once the printers were going again, then the issue would be on its way.

Again, this is not personal to Stuart as one post has put on here. I simply expect fulfillment of what I paid for and in this case, it is not happening.

Tom

I have to say, that I regret the Toy Soldier Model & Figure Magazine..be it Stuart or any other to limit new magazine editions to be digital only.....Why would one do that???
These are my thoughts and I think that of many others...
Cheers

I prefer printed also but I did go digital with Wargames Illustrated as there are features that you can't get with just the printed subscription plus I can print what I need.If I ever get a new printer.^&grin

Anybody in the USA get issue 249 yet??? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller..........................crickets.

While I am at it, I am going to beat this dead horse. There is zero congratulations to be given to anyone who fell short of fulfilling their obligation or job. Again, I know Stuart personally, I like Stuart very much, but the Company deserves nothing in this regard. They sold a Print subscription, they failed to deliver an issue. That right there is pure BS and deserves zero congrats. PO to Guideline.

This really grates me and of all issues the tribute to Gordon Neilson.

Funny thing, I just recently (months ago) bought a subscription to Toy Soldier Collector, amazingly enough, delivered WITHOUT INTERRUPTION AND ON TIME. Now there is a Company who deserves KUDOS.
