Hi Guys
Just added two more Reb Cavalry troopers to my stash-one to go to complete the current series. A couple of pictures depicting Stuart's Gray Horse Soldiers tracking the whereabouts of the Army of the Potomac. Lee depended on Stuart being his eyes for ascertaining the strength and movements of the enemy. And JEB was very good at doing that (standfast Gettysburg).
Although I really like these almost "at ease" poses I live in high hope that the next Reb cavalry releases will be figures at the gallop as per the forthcoming Australian Light Horse as they- I'm sure- will make a pretty impressive dio-if that hope bears fruition that's when I'll add my "missing" bugler figure.
One of the guys on the other thread asked me about the grass mats I use in the dios-they come from John Gittens (JG Miniatures) they are roll up mats 12X24 and I have six of them which gives me a total coverage area of 12 square feet. I can highly recommend them as they are very versatile-easily trimmed, painted or scalped into any terrain coverage you require. I also recommend John's new small leafed bushes as shown in this dio as they can make pretty effective hedgerows.
Sure wish I could join all of you in your predominant discussions on the rest of the K&C threads but unfortunately my expertise on steel wheels; Zimmerit and 600mm idlers simply couldn't match all of you guys. Best I could do is a couple of thrown horse-shoes
