I have this set, but I need someone to confirm it is complete. The box has a slot for one additional figure? I found another set on the net that also only have five figures and the seller wasn't sure if it is complete. I have 2 sailors with ropes, 2 sailors with axes and one petty officer. Is this a complete set or is there a figure missing? Does Tradition usually leave an open slot?
Thanks for you help.

This was a special set commissioned by Finger Interest (they later came in blue boxes with paperwork), this was one of the first sets if I remember correctly. Anyhow, usually 6 figures was what they typically should have and this one originally came with 6.

Thank you for the reply. Any idea what the sixth figure would have been?

Here is a photo of the set I found on the net. It is interesting that this set also only has five figures?

I have the set and pretty sure mine has 6 figures, but I could be wrong. I thought from memory there is another Sailor with something other than ax and rope. My set is in storage so i cannot readily find. I used to have a listing of the Fingers Interest catalog, if I can find that, I think it had a description to it, will look

There is a piece missing and it is a soldier with a rifle. I found a Tradition The US Navy 1861 - 1865 set, which is similar to the Confederate Navy set. I have a confederate holding a rifle that is marked Tradition and I am sure it goes with the confederate navy set I have. Below is a pic of the US Navy set.

That isn't correct, I have a Confederate Navy set that is missing a piece and that is what the soldier goes to, not the Texas set. Back to square one.

I have found this picture in the Spring 1995 Toy Soldier Catalogue Supplement which shows the composition of both sets of ACW Navy figures.

Does that help ???

The Republic of Texas set appears to be completely different castings from the Union/Confederate Navy sets. Those look like they use the same castings, just painted appropriately as Union or rebel sailors. Given that those sets had a guidon-bearer, it's possible the Texas set did, too, but it'll take an ad, or clarification from Tradition, to tell for certain.

Prost!

Tradition still should have the Finger Special Set list and each set's contents. I think when I was at a London show a number of years ago, they actually were selling off old stock of these.

Good point, they should be able to answer the question.

I contacted Tradition's in London several years ago and they never heard of the set, which I found odd. I will try again and maybe will be able to find out if there is a piece missing.
Thanks to eveyone for helping me with this question.
