Does anyone know what model train scale or gauge (I don't know the difference) would correlate to 1/32 scale toy soldiers?

I was looking on ebay and there are some interesting buildings and scenics for trains that I think would work well with some of my sets.

Thanks in advance
Zach

I use 'O' gauge trees for My dio's. They are 7to 9 inches tall and work great. I also use some 'H.O.' gauge wooden barrels for powder kegs. But builds it is hard to say what gauge. Surf the internet and You will find some manufactures and dealers. Good Luck :):):)

It would appear that none of the popular train scales match up very well. G scale is 1:22.5 and O scale is 1:48. There is a No 1 scale at 1:32 but I don't think it is used much for trains. These charts may be useful

Of course I have also seem some charts that show G scale at 1:29, just to be confusing.

What dont you have in your collection ?....is that a "Wild West" loco..sorry forget correct name....nice looking rolling stock......you could do an awsume railway setup...TomB

Those look very nice. Are those G scale trains?

Yes a fairly cheap Western G train, with some of the carriages unscrewed to reveal the base and wheels with a layer of paddle pop sticks glued on to form a flat bed car. My only way of getting a train into my collection.{sm4}, Robin.

Well done......other collector's could follow your example and can have an less expensive railway set up and also those with loco's would be able to add rolling stock to their own set up...TomB

That's from my son's old Playskool toy train set. Cars painted green. The cars are better for European roads and they are G Scale. The track came with the set.

The lower ones are from Bachman. The locomotive is too expensive for me but a few cars at $45 will fill your table and camera window for 54mm. I may paint these as USMRR. The wheels are out of scale to actual 1860s cars but in this "world" the cars are close.

I did a train set up a couple of years ago

Marklin maxi sets are 1/32 and USA trains are a bit bigger but work well, if you look at this thread you can see use of the marklin and USA Trains rolling stock ,

http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?9441-On-the-way-to-Belgorod&highlight=

the BR 52 loco is actually a 1/35 CMK kit that a modeller had put together and finished beautifully that i got off ebay at the time
The following is a description form the thread of what I used

"The flatbeds and depressed centre flat cars was from USA trains, which I got from ebay store marmon927. (Efficient seller) (the rest of the rolling stock, the carraige, gondolas and low sided flat cars are 2nd hand Marklin Maxi which come up regularly enough on ebay and go very cheaply from american sellers- ,not german sellers though where marklin is extermemly popular)

USA Trains G Work Flat Car with Load Maintenance of Way (The attachments are detachable to give you a flat car with sides up for half the length.)

USA Trains G Truck Car Maintenance of Way gray (again the attachemnts detach giving you a flat car without any sides).

Marklin did have some WWII era heavy duty flat cars , but these are as collectable as K&C S/L editions and were way too expensive for my budget The american rolling stock was in use on both the western and eastern fronts through lendlease and I have a dvd which showed the US engineers assembling rolling stock in France, a tremendous amount of loco's and rolling stock was produced for both fronts."
