I was looking at one of the threads in the forum (can not remember which one) from around April. The tread was short and discussed the best trees to use in displaying K&C. While woodland scenics make a good tree I have been using a couple of sources for my diorama. I have over 200 trees ranging from oaks to spruce to cherry trees. I have used JG miniatures but I find them very costly compared to these two sources. The first, Architrees Scaled Scenery Store (Home > eBay Stores > Architrees Scaled Scenery Store > All Categories) on eBay is run by a guy who imports them from the Phillipines. They are cost effective and look very real. I buy the G scale (an oak tree at 8 inches costs about $20 compared to JG Miniatures at $120). The other source is JTT & Partners, web address: www.jttmicroscale.com Their web site is very well done and has great pictures. The trees, like Architrees, are very affordable compared to others and they have a wide range of types and sizes.
Pete and Shannon, you may wish to contact them as they have dealer information on the web sites first page.
I spend a great deal of time searching and researching diorama materials and have found that these two have what I need. As soon as I get a digital camera I will post my toys. It is 24 foot by 8 foot. I have an 8 foot long cliff made up of JG Miniatures scenic pieces, a river, a forest, a Normandy farm complex with about 8 JG Miniature buildings, 8 foot of conte dragons teeth tank traps, and a village (French/German boarder) with all of the K&C Normandy Village pieces, six conte buildings, and now 2 of the new K&C tenant buildings set up as one ruin. I have detailed each building with destroyed furniture, water pipes, rugs, debris from Build-a-rama, etc. I have used 300 K&C sets (DD on one side of the set-up and WS on the other), 30 FOV tanks and vehicles, 18 Britians tanks and half-tracks and 2-21st Century aircraft suspended from the ceiling. I have used so much diorama material and have recieved so many K&C packages that the UPS drivers in my small Minnesota town have awarded me the place with the most deliverys over the past three years. The post man doesn't even bother to delivery at my home. He just brings everything to my office so that he can see me open it.
