Fellow Forum Members,
I seek your help with any info or intel on my good mate Tim Tyler and his wife Melissa of Troops Of Time in Jacksonville, Florida. I have been trying to contact them for the last couple of days with no luck after Cyclone Irma. The latest recorded message sounds very Government like and states they are well but suffered flooding to their home and the business is closed.
Any news would be grateful.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to them, From the Land Downunder, Howard

Howard,

Florida still has several million people without power. According to the news most electricity will be back up by Friday thru Monday of the following week.

Same thing here. Been trying to contact him and get the same recording by Jennifer, one of his assistants. Tim apparently had flooding at his home and is without electricity. His shop is located right at riverside so he might have been flooded there, as well, though the recording doesn't specify. This is all a shame. Tim had just recently relocated to the current shop location and I'm not sure he was even entirely settled in yet. Jacksonville was very hard hit by flooding. At least the recording said that all personal were OK. -- Al

In light of this terrible disaster, I wonder if he will be attending the Chicago OTSN show next week . . . .

Howard mate, I hope the recorded message about Tim and his wife's welfare is accurate and I also hope you can make contact with Tim or a forum member that lives close to or in Jacksonville can provide an update on Tim and his business. It would be extremely distressing to hear that Tim and his wife have been hurt in this flood. Here's a picture of Tim in happier times and when I visited his shop in May this year.

I asked Tom Dubel and he told me that Tim is ok. He had some flooding and loss of power and hopes to make it to Chicago.

Nice picture; if there is a nicer guy than Tim in this hobby/business, I'd like to meet him.

Can confirm our Southern Gentleman of the hobby is aok, but dealing with zero power and ground flooding. Tim resides on the top floor of a tall bldg., so he is fine, just no power and conserving his email power/cell phone. I hope to speak with him by the weekend again and I hope he is still coming to Chicago, I am sure he will do everything he can to make it!

Tom mate,
Many, many thanks for the heads up on my rebel mate Tim. I have left many messages on his shop phone but am now please to hear that he, Melissa, Gordon and Jen are all safe and well. I have very fond memories of sitting at the Bar in Chicago with your good self and Tim. An Aussie bushranger between two Southern gentlemen.^&grin
Once again many thanks and also many thanks to all those who responded to this thread with posts and likes. I have to agree with another old good buddy in George (Warrior) that Tim is one of nature's gentlemen.
Cheers Howard

Howard cobber, I e-mailed back and forth with Tim, and other than a power outage, his home was spared, and he and his wife were fine.

Louis mate,
Many thanks young fella. Your efforts are much appreciated. I was only just thinking of your good self after I made my last post. Good memories of times in New York at your Symposium with Hans, Brad, Tom, Clive (Grey Goose) and Larry (sadly missed).
It never amazes me that when a good mate is in trouble how much time I have spend going over the memories and photos of the many trips I have made to the U.S. of A. and the many, many good mates I have made from the west coast to the east coast.
Cheers Howard

I too was trying to reach Tim and we ended up playing phone tag. He is indeed OK except the ground floor of his building taking on water. His new shop/office is located a bit further inland so could be spared, his home is right on the St. John's river. Knowing Tim and Melissa, they will bounce back and be fine. All the forum members who know him are lucky enough to have a friend as well as a toy soldier resource. Anyone who has not met him should make it a point to do so. Melissa is a great gal, smart and funny as can be. Thank goodness they are safe.

Speaking to Tim on the phone this morning! He is not going to make it to the Chicago Show this year unfortunately.

He and Melissa are fine, they have found a place to stay for the time being until they are able to get back to their home.
His shop is fine! He moved to a new location earlier this year.
He thanks you all for your concern and thoughts! As soon as they can get back to some normalcy he will be able to respond to everyone and get the business back up and running.

Julie

Fellow forum members,

I just spoke with Tim today and will just reiterate what Julie said. He wanted me to THANK ALL OF YOU for your outpouring of support. He has found a temporary place to stay but is looking for something for a longer stay since the lobby and elevator of his building may not be repaired for a while. His shop did escape damage and he is able to send and receive parcels so he is OPEN FOR BUSINESS. He and some of his neighbors made a heroic stand trying to save the lobby but just couldn't hold back the St. John's River. Quite an ordeal for he and Melissa. He is looking forward to getting back to normal and catching up with all of you.
