Trophy at MFCA Show (1 Viewer)

Could it be a collector did it accidentally or perhaps lost the ADC and thought a female would be nice.

Ok, now you guys got me curious as to which versions I have. I will have to pull out the Raj and the Lord RR and see what I have. I almost bought this one just to buy another, I knew it!!!!! I should never think rationally, I should always trust my impulses!!!

Tom
Hi Tom: I worry about collectors who have to pull out sets. But my greatest fear is that Martyn will have all three sets and a fourth one he ordered from the Sears catelogue(just kidding of course). I think it will be neat to account for as many as we can.

I do not think so, Mrs. Roberts figure is just in style of this set, besides the figures in this set a little bit larger then regular Trophy figures, and does not match any sitting female figures made by Trophy.
I personally do not care who exactly has these cars, this kind of "registry" would take some fun from finding them ;)...
The same thing applies to the Arab Dhow model, I was told that 20-25 were made but I already know about 7 of them here in the US :D

Al: I think the registry woud give collectors the chance to look at what is available. It gives you some incentive when you come across a set to consider it. After all, scarcity is the name of the game when it comes to Trophy and you were in the right place at the right time. Once you have some idea who owns what, you can look for the rest.

Excuse my ignorance, but I often can't keep up with the abbreviations (my own fault for being a newbie). What is the MFCA Show?
Cheers,
Sam

(p.s. Does anyone get around to the East Coast Toy Soldier Show in Hackensack NJ? It's small, but sometimes Trophy pops up)

It's the Valley Forge show that was held this past Friday and Saturday and MFCA stands for Miniature Figure Collectors of America. Too bad you missed it as it probably wouldn't have been that far for you to get there.

The Hackensack Show is fairly large and many people do get there.

Tommy, I am kindly disagree: from scarcity point of view it would enough just to know that 47 models have been made... why do we need to know who actually owns them...and ownership could change over the time too ... will registry keep track of this process as well? Beside it could be a privacy issue...after all I bought this model not because only 47 models were made, just because I liked it...
Just me 2 cents

Hi Al: I was just curious as to who in the forum had sets. I didn't invision keepng track of anyone. The idea was to enlighten everyone as to the scarcity of these sets and nothing more. I bought the sets because I liked them. Sorry if I was not more tactful. Besides, if I go out tomorrow, at least someone will know to contact Myra.

Tommy,
no problem at all, we are all friends here and we are helping each other on the "rocky" Trophy road :)
Please do not get me wrong I am very interested in the production numbers and variations for many Trophy models...eventually I would like to assign for every set "rarity / desirability" rating... because not every scarce set is always desirable...take a look at Trophy American Revolution or WW1 ranges for example ....we will need a reference...and I am kind of working on it now...:p

Al: No problem! Len is a wonderfully talented person but as a stabilizer for his collectors, he is a real challenge. I don't think anyone will ever come up with the ultimate catalogue with all of his private comissions considered. I just thought it would be neat if we could see how many autos were owned by TF collectors just to see how many were out for collecting since there was such a small number produced. If someone didn't want to participate, we would never know. Best regards,

I used to make Hackensack and Valley Forge every year, before I left the east coast for college. Hopefully I'll get to hit them the next time around. (Having only ever been to those two, I didn't know Hackensack was considered large haha)

Al,
Beautiful stuff! It is strange that the label mentions the ADC and yet it is a woman included. I do not know for sure, but it looks kind of like a Marlborough figure to me. Next to the Trophy flesh tone, she looks like a corpse! Be nice to find another collector that has this variation. Sounds like you had a great time.

Thank you, JW,
Who knows... I have never seen this particular figure in the Marlborough range...
Len would tell us for sure ... what the hack I will just need to get another "variation" with ADC ;)

Thanks for posting the pics, Al! I didn't get to Ed's tables, so it's great to see the finds you guys made. Good hunting!

Prost!
