Trophy civilian's (2 Viewers)

Burst Baby Burst, I am trying to buy Trophy.:D

I do not think it will burst.:(

From my observation, the current asking price for a single Trophy figure (unboxed) is hovering around USD $25.00.

About 3 years ago, the price for the same was around USD $15.00.

If the figure is listed for auction, the bidding process just ramps up the final price to an astronomical level.

Brian,

I think I might go Little Legion, like you so wisely have done.

Raymond.:)

Raymond,

The good thing about LL right now is nothing is offically retired that I know of.
Mike will make any of his items, it just may take time. I think LL will be like Trophy oneday, higly sought after.

Brian,

Perhaps, I should just be happy and content with the Trophy sets that I already have.

After seeing Little Legion's mounted Melville and Coghill sets together (LL thread), I think 2010 may be a good time to set a new course.

Raymond.

I like the LL Camel Corps and have ordered several more sets from Mike including mounted and dismounted. Add to these a couple of mounted Dervish and some other bits and pieces;)

Cheers

The LLSudan range has great figures, I am always tempted to buy some when I see them at the Toy Soldier Shoppe, but with Trophy, LL and Britains AZW ranges and K&C tanks I resist the temptation. However, I think I am going to pickup the figure firing over a the sitting camel.

Martyn: I wonder if Tony who designed the Victoria for Len and built them is working with Patrick. I am not sure Len sold the boat line to Ken. Tommy

That thought has crossed my mind as well.
Patrick said no though.
He has made a very similar boat.
Martyn's looks fantastic.

Hi Damian and Tommy

Just to confirm, Patrick has no connection with Trophy, he is building the boats with the help of his wife.

I love my boat;)

Just to confirm what Martyn says.
I spoke to Patrick after the London Show and he told me exactly that.
He makes them with his good lady.
They are fantastic boats.

Martyn,

A great ship, I really enjoy seeing it. It has so many possibilities, when used in dioramas. Have you used it as a troopship yet.

Hi Brian, thank you, I'm glad you like it.

I tried the troopship idea and it works great, the top deck will take a couple of Nordenfeldts and Gatling guns. More of that in the New Year;)

Your steamer captures the essence of life in Victoria's Colonial Empire.

Might I ask how you got interested in this era/subject?

Randy

Marytn : Great steamer! You might try Marlborough's English civilian set from their durbar series. Goes well with Trophy and Dorset. Thanks for sharing your photos. Tommy

Hi Randy

As the Afghan/NWF, Egypt and The Sudan and the Second Boer War are in a similar historical time period I think it was an almost natural progression after collecting the Anglo Zulu War.

That’s my excuse and I'm sticking to it;):D

Cheers

Martyn:)

PS. I also love Elephants hence my interest in the Indian Mutiny series

My question is of a broader nature:

How did you decide on the British Empire of the Victorian Era as a collecting focus?

Hi Randy

It all started, like so many others, after viewing "Zulu" way back when it was first released in the 1960's

Cheers
