Trophy Elephants 3 (1 Viewer)

Hi Tom

As you probably know the catalogue had a price code next to the set and this corresponded with a price list at the back of the catalogue. I have had a look through the 1992 catalogue that I have and pulled these examples:

AZW – RHA FIELD GUN AT THE GALLOP = £170 code XG
RAJ – PRINCE OF WALES STATE ELEPHANT = £171 code I
BOER – STEAM ROAD TRANSPORT – TRACTION ENGINE = £330 code Q9
RAJ/INDIAN ARMY – ELEPHANT DRAWN SEIGE GUN = £209 code XH
RAJ/INDIAN ARMY – ELEPHANT GATLING GUN = £128 code Q1

Sets with a code Q10 retailed for £635 and code Q11 retailed for £800, I have looked for any sets with these codes Q10 and Q11 but can’t find any, does anyone have any idea what sets these codes represent?

Just as an aside I have 6 figure sets of 24th with a £39 price ticket;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

You'd be lucky to get 1 for that price nowadays eh Martyn :)

Too right Scott. A Sergeant with flag from the Egypt and The Sudan series sold for £48 yesterday and there was the single Dervish with the broken arm that sold for £33.70 before Xmas:eek:

Yup and in today's currency conversion, even more!!! By the way, it was odd that the 6 figure sets were always reasonable (60 to 75)! Just put a vehicle, gun or Elephant in the mix and all best were off!!

By the way, I just found a WW1 Whippet Tank from Tommy Atkins in the original box in a box of stuff. I knew I had it, the original Tommy stuff I like just as much as the Trophy!

Martyn,
I was looking over these old posts and I realized that I have one of the plastic Britains elephants. Here it is next to the Trophy Elephants (unfortunately I broke the tusks when I was a wee lad). They do look quite similar though this chap has his trunk up.
Cheers,
Sam

Hi Scott

Do you have any pictures of the Britains elephants you could post?

Cheers

Martyn:)
