There are several ACW sets listed on eBay that are described as matte. Did Trophy actually makes sets in matte?

I was wondering the same thing. I thought they experimented with that towards the end trying to compete with the newer style like K&C, but I am not sure. They do not look right to me!:wink2:

Me too John. I sent the seller an email. Matte just doesn't seem right to me for Trophy!

I know they did a single figure of General Armistead (ACW) in matte.

They did do matte. I have some Sudan (Dragon Crest) sets in matt. I think they are posted in my album.

Trophy produced some Dragon Crest matte sets around 2000, I believe these were mainly Egypt and The Sudan sets although there is the WW1 bus. I have seen Trophy Dervish Camel sets in matte but in my opinion Trophy should be in gloss.

I think the ACW sets on Ebay are specials according to their Ebay description

That's one of the figures up for auction.

That they're matte could be the reason there is not much action on these auctions.
