News From Trophy of Texas - 2010

December 1st Announcement:

As of this morning Trophy of Texas no longer stocks new Trophy Miniature figures in complete sets. I will continue to have a few single figures for sale, most of these coming from sets that we broke up for good customers as well as some from our store displays. I have kept a pretty-close-to-complete set of all of the Christmas items and perhaps someday I'll part with those, but right now the grandkids are enjoying them so they aren't for sale. I'm also sure that a stray set or two or three will turn up from someplace "back behind" some other inventory or some of our studio photography equipment that was stored a few years ago, if it does I'll make an announcement about it....but for now, "That's all folks!"

I want to take a little time to thank all of the collectors that have proven to be faithful customers of both Trophy of Texas and Trophy Miniatures, Wales. It's been a real pleasure to serve y'all and work closely with so many of you during the past decade. Len's decision to retire is the only reason that we decided to move out of the toy soldier business...without Len it just wasn't going to be as much fun and, after all, they're TOYS and if toys aren't fun we don't play with them....no matter how old we are! I count getting to know, meet, and work with Len Taylor and his family as one of the high points of my life, a gentleman and one of the most interesting and funny guys I've ever known! His wife Val is a princess and I loved getting to know her during their visit to Texas.

I will continue to keep the website up and running so that future collectors can view the most complete catalog listing that anyone ever put together...it's not complete and, as most of you who collect Trophy know, probably never will be considered complete. Len had a habit of doing a LOT of different stuff that was released, re-released, changed and released and re-released again!...what I'm saying is that new-old Trophy sets are surfacing all of the time and even the old-time collectors are surprised from time to time with what magically appears as "new Trophy" sets! Gotta love him for it as this is one of the truly magical things about having worked with Len, you just never know what's going to pop up!

Also, we will continue to make our DVD available to you...it contains over 1000 Trophy set photographs all numbered to match the Trophy catalog's set numbers. Our e-mail address will remain active, too so all you have to do is contact me and let me know that you'd like one and it can be on it's way to you within 24 hours. If you'd prefer to call you can continue to reach me at 903-885-1664.

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF OUR LOYAL AND FAITHFUL TROPHY OF TEXAS FRIENDS!!!

Well unfortunately I came to the Trophy party late. Though I have managed to find quite a few left over drinks!

I purchased my first few AZW Trophy sets from Mike.
