I have some Trophy Miniatures GW07 British Infantry Marching World War I that need TLC such as replacing arms and touching up the paint. If anyone can recommend a paint match I'd appreciate it if they'd pass on the name of the manufacturer and color.

Thanks . . .

Al,

Brad (Jazzeum) uses a gentleman in New Jersey. At Brad's recommendation I used him once to paint some Lesinski castings for me. He did an excellent job. I don't recall his contact information, but I'm sure you can get it from Brad.

Thanks, Brad, but I like to do my own restoration. And before someone comments, both I and most of my soldiers need at least some restoration!

If you need repairs Al, please let me know. If you’re looking for just paint, I talked to Mike and he doesn’t use a specific brand. What he tries to do is match colors, not paints. He uses acrylics and for Trophy he will sometimes use Vallejo. However, he doesn’t just use the paint out of a specific bottle but may mix paints to obtain the specific color. He also uses Citadel and sometimes Testor if he thinks it will help him get the right color. I don’t know if that helps but he is a real craftsman. There is no one like him in the US, in my opinion (that I know of).

Mike Norris who owns Little Legion used to paint for Len, so he would be good resource to understand the original paints. Other than that, Brad's post regarding his friend Mike is spot on, I have never seen someone be able to match paint the way he does regardless of gloss, matte, connoisseur, etc.
