Hi all,
while digging, I found this set, no set number and it looks peculiarly like the Ben Helm Orphan Set that I have too, BUT they are not the same painting, anyone know who this one is, I have looked through my hard catalog, MKL's and I cannot locate my Trophy Texas cd right now to check that. Any help is much appreciated, I am thinking it is simply a first ACW set that was later repainted to be the Ben Helm orphan set but I am not sure.

Looks like a generic charging reb set to me. Perhaps it is part of the Picket's charge set?Great set though.

Damian,
good question, hopefully some of our Trophy experts will know, I just can't id it.

As Holmes would say Elementary, I have discovered that this set is 6 figures (Gen. Armistead and 5 chargers) from the limited edition Battle of Gettysburg featuring Pickett's charge. SO< Damian, kudos to you for the suggestion, once I started to research that area, it became quite clear! The set was also reissued using different paint as Ben Helm's orphan brigade.

Len was a bit naughty sometimes. I am not sure if there were any really unique pieces in those big sets.?
