TROPHY. (8 Viewers)

Not even worthy of a reply.
NEVER SAY NEVER, SUPPOSE MY XRP TOOK OFF GIVING ME $50 MILLION. I COULD IN THEORY EITHER TRACK DOWN THE MOULDS AND/OR TRACK DOWN THE PEOPLE LIKE THE SCULPTERS, PAINTERS AND
PEOPLE WHO CASTED THE FIGURES.I COULD GET THEM TOGETHER AND START NEW LINES , CREATE NEW FIGURES FOR OLD LINES AND MAKE MORE BOATS. ALL I NEED IS A $10000 PRICE FOR A CRYPTO COIN AND THE SWIFT SYSTEM
TO USE THE BLOCKCHAIN SYSTEM BY RIPPLE XRP TO EXECUTE THE MOVEMENT OF MONEY. IT IS NOT AS FAR FETCHED AS YOU THINK BRAD

As promised, here are some photos of the Trophy Dhow and Nile River Gunboat with crews:

As promised, here are some photos of the Trophy Dhow and Nile River Gunboat with crews:
Thanks for sharing the photos of the crews on these boats Louis, I’m hoping someone can confirm if the Little Legion dhows came with crews too. Fortunately over the years I acquired a couple of sets of crews for the Trophy Dhow (not sure whether the sets were separated from their original dhows or if Trophy sold the crew separately) so I plan to use them on my newly acquired Little Legion Dhows.

Terrific idea! The Trophy crews should look great on the Little Legion Dhows.

I think Louis's WW1 takes the Welsh pudding on this thread. But thanks to all for your postings. That's some nice Sudan, Damian. And the Dhows, boats and Zulu Wars are, as always, very cool.
We wish we had the Marines to go with the HMS Lion. If anyone knows anything about a set being sold please tell us. Thanks.
Also, just for fun, who owns the dozen HMS Lions that we don't have? List?
All of these beautiful Trophy shots are making us want more. Bad when we have no funds or space and should support the current releases to help the Hobby at this time. But fun to consider and enjoy. We dusted off our tiny WW1 collection for fun after taking it out of the curio and putting it on a table where, when noticed by Ma, will have to go back up. Those leads on the horse-drawn field kitchen are delicate...
Sorry to ramble. Best Wishes & Happy Trophy collecting,
Paddy for Dad & me

Looking past the complaints and attacks in his content, I took it that he was sounding out interest if he revives the brands he now owns. But you're right, Brad, and I made the same point-if he wants to start selling his figures, talk about the castings, and avoid the negative comments, which really just amount to gossip in forums like ours.
I was surprised to see him at PF, because it's really more of a site for connoisseur painters. There are a couple of us traditional toy soldier painters there, but we're a small minority. There were some positive replies, but I don't know how much new business a toy soldier maker might get from there. Apparently he joined PF back in 2023, but as far as I could tell from his stats, he didn't post till now.
Certainly has made for some interesting reading, if nothing else.
Prost!
Brad
I remember when Maxime Chevallier started posting on Planet Figure, mostly photos of old glossy Toy Soldier sets that he said he had the legal rights to and intended to bring back into production. Despite the Free Advertising etc, the PF members were mostly supportive until Max went on a rant including the statement that he would not sell to collectors in the United Kingdom, which was not well received and subsequently he was banned from PF for a while, basically similar to his behaviour on Treefrog.

However Maxime Chevallier does most of his ranting on Quora where he accuses some Planet Figure members as being out to get him, along with Jehovah Witness's apparently. And of course Treefrog forum members are out to get him as well, apparently we are all Nazis here and once again he has decided to get out of this hobby. No I'm not making this up, go read it yourself guys, sure is 'some interesting reading, if nothing else'.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY TROPHY RECASTS?
I don’t want to accuse anyone, but when you constantly see Camel Corps sets from the UK selling for half the price they used to fetch just a few years ago—always without boxes and with slightly different (though still very good) paint—you start to wonder :). Camel Corps sets have always been in high demand, and you never see them sold at those kinds of prices by U.S. sellers.

Thank you! Wow the crew looks great! Did these come with the dhow or did you add these yourself?
I havbe added in a few, but you can see the Little legion figures in amongst them which came with the boat. There was a little artillery piece and gunner, a wounded or dead dervish, a tiller a few others. Teh rest are extra Trophy Dervis
hes.

Buyer Beware guys, Recasts and Remakes of Traditional Toy Soldiers remains an 'issue' in what is still basically a 'Cottage Industry', even the boxes can be easily reproduced these days. It's a bit like military uniforms and equipment, if it looks to good to be true, it probably isn't.

As you know, I was recently on the wrong end of this, 'activity', on the diodrama threads. I have never even heard of him.

Fleubaix was never a serious competitor IMO, it had a slow start, inadequate promotion and soon got a poor reputation for amatuer painting and slow or non delivery of orders. Several collectors in Australia and overseas were ripped off but may not wish to make that public.

Thanks.

Max mentions that he has Chota Sahib and Yeomanry moulds and I was curious if he had ever sold any of those castings, which he seems not to have done.

He might want to acknowledge the source of his images too.;)
