Hi guy's after wining one of Gorden's diorama's I have had a crack at how he made it. Started with something simple but used different products to stick to the foam base. Coming together nicely . What do you think . Simmo.

Hey Simmo, Looks really good – Well done. Cheers, Alby

Like the grass and the tree,s not the craters there to orangey brown.

Gee thay must look crapy as no replies.Simmo.

No, I wouldn't say it's crappy. Most people don't like to be critical of others work. It is evident that you have put a lot of thought and effort into this and I think it looks great (though perhaps the orange could be toned down a bit :p :D). One day I will have a go at something like this.

Well done. :)

Jeff

The burning tree looks good.................:D
Na dinkum Simmo i admire you for having a go and putting it out there and having a go.

Nice base for your figures. A little steep to say its crappy I bet some of Gordons dio's have been binned or do not come out the way one wants first time. And, remember that these guys and the likes of TM terrain JG miniatures etc have all the professional stuff available its really hard when you do not and scratch build so, to speak.

I look back at some of my first ones and cringe but, its just called learning the trade and new ideas. I now only use pigments from Mig and Vallejo for groundwork which, gives a better matt finish.

I think it is pretty good, I would as other suggest tone down the craters. Kudos to you for taking a stab and having a go !!

Chris...I think it's beautiful...creating these dioramas from scratch is hard work and time consuming...the more you do...the better you get...very nice work...

What Michael said Simmo!;)

Well done mate, dio making is something you learn over time and tweak and adjust as you go,its not easy and takes lots of patience.Nice one.

that's a great dio.
when you're done can you give us a side-by-side comparison of what you're copying?

Excellent job on the ground cover, superb color choice for the grass, Verlinden flocking perhaps, hard to tell from the pictures, but you nailed it.

Shellholes are excellent, as others have said, tone down the colors a tiny bit, they look very good the way you've incorportated them into the board not an easy thing to do.

I'd replace the trees with perhaps less of them and have them be taller.

The right trees can make or break a display; the good ones are not cheap, which is the issue in the end.

You did a great job overall, a few tweaks here and there and off you go, thank you for taking the time to post your work.

A great deal of time goes into these sort of things, just ask Mike Miller, who has to eat 4,956 sugar free banana pops to make one of his houses........;)
