Twilight British 24th Foot from ModelZone (1 Viewer)

I also had a conversation with Modelzone last night and have been charged and advsied mine will be shipped in a few days time.
I did pre-order it maybe 6 to 8 weeks ago though.

I had a call today from Modelzone to take payment for my pre-order. I was told they are in stock and should arrive in the post towards the end of next week. Looking forwards to some great AZW issues this year.

I skipped this one. Looks like he is poking with the bayonet rather than
thrusting. Also, I only do 24th Foot, not Zulu's. Maybe I could take the
Zulu off though.

I was in two minds about this one because I agree that in the pictures he looked like he was poking the Zulu with the bayonet; it did not have the same intensity of the Conte figure bayoneting a Zulu. Though of course the Conte figure is not behind a load of biscuit boxes and I am not sure he would get the bayonet back out !!!

Anyhow, I decided to get the set and I am glad that I did, as I really like it. The two figures look good; the bayoneting figure looks realistic and is far better than the 'offical pictures' I saw.

The detailing includes spent cartridges on the base of the set - which adds to it. We could though do with some more injured / dead Zulu's :wink2::wink2:

Finally, here it is with the rest of the 24th :smile2:

Thanks Gazza for the review and photos much appreciated. Think I will need to track one down.

I wonder why this has a bid of £149.99 on it {eek3}, the Guildford store still had 3 in stock after I bought mine last week:rolleyes2:

Cheers

I see it has now been reduced to £99, he is trying it on, thats capitalism for you.
Like the guy who has high prices for Zulu sets on ebay and in some cases vastly high prices, see below,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITAINS-...Toys_Games_ToySoldiers_EH&hash=item415abdf273

I contacted the guy and genuinely asked if they were 'specials' and he said he did not know what the prices were as they were new to him, however little bit of a google check and it is the guy who has the stand in the foyer at the London Toy Soldier show, so he must have known the prices [he also has his new zulus at £29.99].

I see no problem in this, people are just trying to get the best price.

New to the range, switched after the multiple price increases of King and Country.

Bought it, not sure I like it. Sometimes I do dispair that those who design and manufacture put too little thought into the sets. For example you cannot take the figures off the stand and display, very poor planning, would have like 2 or 3 to spread around a diorama but will not work. People would have more than 1 and used in an ISAW dio and a R Drift dio, secondly [and linked to my third point] it is on a slight raised base so cannot really be used with the 3 level biscuit box wall. This leads on to my third point, the biscuit box wall is three boxes high and the new set is two which also makes it not possible to really use with the boxes.

The biscuit boxes weight 100 lbs each an were stack two high and not three when the wall was created............The Lt.

Well I like mine, it can fit in well and is quite a dramatic vignette. Cheers, Robin.
