uk customs and parcel farce (1 Viewer)

Hi people.

a parcel sent to me from us has been awaiting customs clearance since 25-4-11, usually this only takes 2days for them to either release it or demand more money from me. Has anyone in uk ever had this problem before? ive emailed parcel farce and they say they have no powers over customs.

Best of luck, I have found them quite helpfull, they will probably be able to tell you what the Customs fee is, then just add the Parceforce £8 on top to get the total due

I had to collect two parcels from my local PF depot on Friday, one had a VAT charge of £8.16 on it which doubled to £16.16 when PF added their bit, the other had a charge of £18 plus the £8 PF charge.

£42 total payment for the two boxes, both contained Toy Soldiers from the USA

i rang customs today 14 times before they actually put me through to someone. they told me not enough info was on the postage label example contents and price.
They would like a letter from the person who sent them to me with prices and contents list. i told the customs it was a gift and was not bought, so they now want a letter with prices and if its over £40 they will add some charge onto it before letting it go.

I'm surprised it got through US Customs. I had a parcel held up for 3 weeks because of poor description of the contents on the Customs form. When it eventually arrived it had been opened and resealed with Homeland Security tape all around it

How was it described originally? I just put metal toy soldiers and a cost.

As for time, I have had my last two video disk purchases from Amazon UK held up for 4 weeks each.

Hi Fellas,

This is still on going, 26 times i rang yesterday and could not get through. ive sent them a letter today as they no longer staff their email address.^&confuse

Finally got a phone number that actually has someone on the other end today and not just a computer that cuts me off. I told them that these are toy soldiers gifted to me for my birthday and that their is no need to hold my parcel for this amount of time for no reason. They said can i be more specific to whats in the box, i said their toy soldiers and are small little men that you can play with or display whatever you want to do with them. They said have you played with them and i said no, you have them.^&confuse They said do i know how big the parcel is^&confuse i said no i dont because you have it and i have not seen it yet. I told them they are a gift for my birthday and they could not grasp that anyone would want to send me a birthday present.

Now i need a letter from my friend who sent them to me saying that they are a gift to me and that they are second hand toys and then they will decide if they will give them to me or charge me some sort of vat crap. its already cost me £15 on my phone bill.
