Upcoming releases for may/june (1 Viewer)

That DDay publishing site that NP provided a link is quite interesting. It turns out that I have two of the books mentioned there, including the one about the clicker. I got both in Normandy at St Mere Eglise. The clicker book (more like a pamphlet or an article) is actually quite interesting because it corrects the misconception that the 82nd used them (as shown in the Longest Day) when it was actually the 101st that used them.

I was probably the last to see them, but I'll say it anyway, the new sets look great! I love jeeps, what can i say.

There is Vandervourt himself, I would say the figure is pretty accurate. Awesome sets!

Cool Cody,

Thanks for the update. Unfortuantely I have some experience with crutches and I was wondering about the figure but Andy does his research well doesn't he?

As interesting as the Colonel Vandervourt figure is, it is the Ambulance jeep that has me most excited. There has always been something about K&C jeeps, from the very first highly detailed wood para jeep through the metal Arnhem and SAS Desert jeeps through to the Battle of the Bulge M.P. jeep and the Santa jeep last Christmas! I drive a jeep, so I guess that also plays into my affection for these vehicles, but I really do love Andy's work on the subject.

Since the quality of the K&C vehicles has been ever improving, and I missed out on the two paratrooper jeeps with trailers, I would like to be able to buy a regular plain old jeep to go with my weapons carriers and GMC trucks. It would be simple enough to retool the ambulance jeep without the ambulance stuff. Sort-of-a repaint so to speak.

I am so looking forward to getting the ambulance and the remainder of the new releases, D-Day and Napoleonic's. The Gray's look wonderful.

I talked to Andy a couple of days ago.Reference the Ambulance jeep: the two stretchers on the hood are removable, the stretcher, medic holding the i-v,and the driver, are all gluded in. It has something to do with the structure ,and integrty of the chassis, plus a lot of paint loss if the stretcher was removable. Proud to say this was my first vote for a new vehicle when Andy asked me.Reference the Colonel ,and his crutch: the photo is clearly accurate, but if you spent time on these you would discover you need to switch arms ever once in a while. Based on what i experienced personelly in 2005,do i emphasize!

They look to be good sets, and I'm pleased that K & C decided to depict the actual people rather than movie actors. That said, I still think Lt Commander Colin Maud RN from the 'Beachmaster Set' (DD-54) looks remarkably like Kenneth More :)

Well, I always thought that I wouldn't start collecting D Day again, but now I have to. Love the jeep, and especially the M5 with those lovely hedge cutters and crew figures. As said, The souvenir Hunters is a bit of an oddity (reminds me of a picture of a paratrooper squad on D Day, where the officer (?) is proudly showing his captured flag) but I think that "reach for the sky!" will become an all time favorite for me...

I'm with you, Joey. The jeep and the Stuart are absolutely must have's, but the jewel of the lot is the "Reach for the Sky" set, that is extremely well done.
Looks like it's time to make those hard choices in life, food, clothing, shelter or more K&C. I think the choice is pretty clear.:D
