I'm postponing the auctions until Friday or Saturday...the list is large and more difficult to group together than I had thought...sorry for any inconvience...I'm also not sure now if I should just sell the items individually or not??? Seems grouping would be more practical for shipping but maybe cause me to net less overall...any ideas on how to list large quantities?

Mark,
There are more than a few on here who could give you advice, if you want my opinion on grouping/individual/pricing, shoot me a list via email and I can offer my opinion.

Of course, it will cost you your German Pilot set.........:)

You're best bet is to go to sagers site and do the tedious task of grouping the figures properly.

if you offer group lots rather than the single sets, you'll very likely net a lot less on your overall sales.

the shipping issues on a larger number of sets? just let people know that it can take a few days, a week or what ever to get their orders packed.

in anticipation of of selling a large volume of sets, go and order USPS medium and large flat rate boxes, shoe boxes and number 4 and number 7's. These are free but can take up to 2 weeks to arrive.

Get them at:

Then, go to ULine and get shipping peanuts, tape and bubble wrap if need be:

http://www.uline.com/Grp_10/Bubble-Rolls?keywords=Bubble+Rolls

And you should get a tape gun.

If you're selling volume, then this is the way to go. Even with the shipping, you'll save a lot more money than going to the local store or lowes, home depot, etc

Lastly, please do searches to make sure other people aren't selling the same item you're about to list.

Gideon, you gave very good advice to Marc :)

I sell peoples collections on eBay for them because many find out just how time consuming it can be. It's more or less a Full Time undertaking. So many unseen details must be considered in order to get the best possible returns.

My advice to you Marc....don't be in such a hurry, or you'll lose out on your potential returns. Think of it as a business and not a "fast buck", and you'll be fine :)

I greatly appreciate all the input...I feel good knowing there are those of you willing to take the time in posting such valuable info to help. I'm steering somewhat towards individual...I'll just have to put some extra time in shipping I guess...the good thing is everything is new in the original boxes.

Thank You!

Good advice given. Big issue is even if new in original box, if you fubar the packing, it doesn't do well! Overpack to save yourself the future headache. Again, as others have put it, you will make more the more time you put in it.

the corn starch peanuts I recommended are great, not only because they dissolve in water and are environmentally friendly, but they can squished and used to secure weapons, straps, bayonets, tank barrels, etc. If you lightly moisten them they will stick to each other creating a great buffer against damage.

Also, if you have to wrap individual figures, use toilet paper. You secure the fragile parts with the peanuts and make like a little mummy with the tp. It is the best wrapping as it is soft and actually has a little cushioning to it.

Have fun.
