Plastic collectors are a different breed and different things appeal to them vs metal collectors.
There are some extremely rare Marx character figures from their playsets produced in the 1950's and 1960's, I recently sold two character figures for 60.00 each on Ebay; they are plastic, unpainted figures, but two buyers felt they were worth that price.
Some rare Marx playsets have sold over the years for incredible money, same with Barszo playsets. For example, his Aztec playset sells for upwards of 1,000.00.
The person who purchased this figure is an avid Britain Deetail collector and purchased an extremely rare figure.
As long as he's happy with the item, in the end that's all that matters.
Back in the day, a super rare K & C glossy set of German tankers sold all day long for 2,000.00, that's 500.00 a figure; how is that any different than this.

Agree 100%. I have sold a very rare Marx playset, original Giant Treasure Island, final bill came in at 1K - buyer extremely happy, still emails me. I am happy to see pricing achieved, it indicates a vibrant hobby with demand. I collect Russian figures and pay a fortune for some, not everyone's cup of tea, but it is mine. I enjoy them. I have commissioned Kelly's Heroes items and still do for somewhat significant sums but I like them. SO, bottom line - good for the buyer, good for the seller, happy fellas all around.

Over the course of many years I’ve learned (and am still learning) not to question what a person pays for something. I also collect vinyl records and some of the prices people pay make me want to shake my head but in the end they’re very happy with their purchase, and that’s what counts.

Figure I have $5,000 here eh
I don't know enough about Deetail figures, but I remember and have read about the paratroopers previously and I was shocked at how so few were made of those particular variants. Some of my first figures were the Detail ranges and I thought they were the best figures since sliced bread when I was younger. I even had the AK Kubelwagen with the white wheels, could not believe the price I got when I sold it!
