Ponchos!:D

How about it?:DMaybe a group of americans maybe 1 kneeling in with a poncho round him?
Or a sergeant going round with a box of ponchos or even greatcoats handing them around to his squad?:eek:Would look pretty cool for an American Battle of the Bulge Display!

Especially with the new Dodge truck!:D

arnhem44mad...

Great idea Figarti have just announced they are doing two german para's playing cards so, this may be the start of troops at rest.

A special set of maybe a few american paras climbing on top of a tiger tank, one could be opening the hatch , another throwing in a grenade, maybe another shooting through the hatch like in Saving Private Ryan???:D:D:D

What about a couple Medics checking on the troops for frostbite or wounds.

Some more Bulge GI’s, in whatever form, will always be welcome.

Hey lads, never seen you reply to any of my threads before...but I LOVE the way you think!:D:cool:

BoB
How about some Gi'S draped in white bed sheets ( =snow camouflage because of the lack of adequate equipment)
Gi's that fit in foxholes
Gi's on front line eating their rations
Gi's digging foxholes
Gi's climbing on a truck
Gi's on the frontline shaving
Gi's knocking down a door with their rifle butts
etc etc ...
I can go on and on
Guy:)
recon patrol

Mitch
the original question was about GI's and with all due respect the British were not too heavily envolved in the BOB
guy:eek:

This is about the only idea in this thread that I saw where I would part with my money. The Bulge ideas sound good I guess but I don't collect the BoB so couldn't say really.

Copies of figures from recruiting/morale poster art of WWII.

Did the artists keep the copyrights? Many were working directly for the government so I would think that wouldn't be an issue.

"The M-1 does MY talking!" showing a GI with a Garand and holding a clip [yes, a clip, not a magazine ;) ] in his hand.

Another showing a machine gunner in torn uniform blazing away with a .30 cal machine gun.

Finally not a G.I. but Uncle Sam [has he already been done?] in the iconic pose from the "I want you for US Army" poster.

Looked up the Uncle Sam poster. "This image is a work of a U.S. military or Department of Defense employee, taken or made during the course of an employee's official duties. As a work of the U.S. federal government, the image is in the public domain."

Finally, Pointe du Hoc Rangers, maybe some climbing. Dynamic poses are my favorite.:)

How about a small section of wall with an uncle sam poster and american GIs before they went to france copying the pose off the poster and another trooper taking a photo?:)

How about GIs lacing up their boots and leggings, maybe a field kitchen, and cots with sleeping or sitting GIs in them?:D

More trucks!:DThe dodge is a great edition!:D

I would like to see a newer version of the jimmy truck, would really help with my dilemma of where to put the sitting passengers when I finally get around to buying them!:eek:Would like to keep the cannopy on the dodge carrier, but I would really like to see a jimmy without a cannopy, I know that this is unlikely due most of King and country's recent trucks and halftracks being released with one, bu i think it would ook better without!:)

Or maybe even a half cannopy? Which is high enough to let fiigures sit underneath it, maybe even a couple of GI figures in poses so they look like they are rolling the cannopy down?:)

I would also like to see some sitting medics and BAR men with their stretchers and BARs inbetween their legs or infront of them, would also be amazing to see some figures in mounting and dismounting of the trucks poses?:DMaybe a soldier in the truck grabbing a soldier on the ground who's foot is in the metal bar below the back of the truck?:D:cool:

Believe me, I was in one of these at the weekend, and there is no way in hell anyone could get into the back of a jimmy sensibly (without rolling over and crawling on the floor) without at least 1 person helping!:D

Andy if you are reading, and I hope you are....It's all up to you!;)
