Awesome work. Grass mat looks fantastic. Are the figures standing on the grass or do you have a "road". If on the grass, do the figures tend to topple over? Nice soft touches with the logs and shrubs.

thanks Ken...it's a Hudson and Allen Studio mat...made by Ken Osen...it's very flat and rigid...made of some type of composite...to be honest...the flag bearer is a bit wobbly...I had to position a dime under his base to steady him...but the truth be told...he's even a little shaky on a smooth table top...

looks great bud but are they assaulting Pike's Peak?? :tongue:

that's really sharp, if I had the room, I'd like to get into an 1812 range myself.

Veramente SPLENDIDO!!!
Complimenti Mike
Yours Giovanni

thank you Giovanni...

thanks Chris...you know...the Niagra Campaign and invasion of Canada was in an area with a lot of surrounding mountains...the Niagra Mountains themselves are actually in New York...they are about 3,000 feet high and I'm pretty sure these mountains get some snow caps on them...

I think this is one of John's best series...but like you say...room is always a problem...I don't know where I will put any more figures unless I buy some new shelving...

That looks great Michael :salute:: You certainly can't beat massed troops ;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Fantastic Michael. The horse drawn limber will look good in that setting when you get it. ^&grin

The most prominent natural feature in the area are the deep, deep limestone gorges, rapids and of course Niagara Falls !!!! The rapids below the falls are exceedingly dangerous as the water is so deep, much deeper than a typical river in rapids. Within the run of the rapids, the water is so oxygenated it is a bright greenish blue on a sunny day - close to aquamarine.

Michael--totally impressive and beautiful to look at.

A bit of Texas "Shock & Awe"

How wide are the base and photo? --did you print one photo out that large or splice 2 together? --it is most awesome.

Randy

very very nice Mike, that ground is fantastic, all the set is perfect!!
Carlo

Carlo...thank you...Hudson and Allen made the base...I have had it for a while...it's quite nice...

Randy...thanks...the base is a Ken Osen custom...it's 30"x18"...the picture is from Hobby Lobby...it's 36"x24"...$12.99...but I had a 40% off coupon...so it was about $8.00...I'm only showing the top half in these pics...

This is very accurate. I can actually look out onto the gorge from where I work, and can see Canada across the gorge. Not a mountainous area though, that would be more in the Adirondack region of the state. The area around Niagara Falls itself is flooded with negative ions as a result of the action of the water falling, which gives you an uplifting feel when around it. Quite interesting.

I have to agree with everyone else's assessment--great scene!! Love the mass troops and the backdrop is perfect.

Mark

Michael mate,
You are not just a good looking bloke^&grin^&grin but a great dio maker. Top effort cobber. Was great to catch up in LA at the West Coaster. Would have like to have spent more time talking TS with you. Maybe Chicago??
Cheers Howard:salute::

Rich...I know you live around there...so your knowledge of geography is definitive...I will rename the picture Pikes Peak or Adirondack...hahaha...

This is the rest of my US figures...standing/firing...I will try and start on the British side tomorrow...I'm tired of hauling figures in and out of the display cabinet...

Very nice! Background and foreground blend together very nicely!

I just started this range at the beginning of the year and agree with several posts on several threads that this is Jenkin's best range of all in terms of sculpting, animation, and subject matter as this period in history is not covered much by anyone! This may turn out to be one of those sleeper ranges that become more popular as time goes on... :)

Superb pictures Michael:salute:::salute::

Cheers

Martyn:)
