Less than a month away from the 2014 rendition of the Valley Forge MFCA / Toy Soldier show.
It is Friday and Saturday, May 9th and 10th

Here is the link ..http://www.mfcashow.com/ so you can get all the information

I am going to be with George Guerriero from Minuteman Toy Solders.
I represent the "Brains and Beauty"; George is the Brawn! --- (Oh boy are we in trouble!) {sm2}

Who is planning to go to Valley Forge?
Being a K&C AWI collector that will be a special treat for me.
I hope a lot of you folks will stop by the booth and say hello.

--- Larry

Funny, I thought George was the "beauty" :rolleyes2:

Yes, I will be there.

Brad

So will I. I will be following Rod who will be exhibiting several new figures.

Hi Larry,

I'll be there too. I'll be tagging along with Andreas and Rod. I usually hang out at George's table for awhile anyway so it will be nice to meet you.

Good job Larry, keep it up; everyone feel free to follow Andreas, Rod and Mark over to the MMTS tables, bring your money and your sense of humor.............:wink2:

If I have lots of cash, can I wear my Yankee cap in the general vicinity of your tables? Michael

Yankee cap ... :( ... NY Giants Helmet ... :redface2: ... NY Nick's Jersey ... :p .... Islanders Goalie mask .... {eek3} (Okay that would be scary) .... but all is good.

I will turn a bit-of-a-traitor for a few hours .... Larry

You can wear it without the cash, you're always welcome at my tables Michael............:salute::

Actually, it would be more fitting if he wore it with the cash(man) :D

George, thanks for your comments on my tribute to Boston Strong. It will be my entry in the painted figure category. Been going to MFCA since the early 70's, and for the first time expect to enter in 3 categories. Both Pat Deluhery and I will have a toy soldier diorama as an attempt to drive further interest in reviving this category as it was in the earlier years of the show.

However my other entry in the canvas art work category is one you may find interesting. It will be a portrait of a man who emerged as the secret source of the 2013 Red Sox success. Hired by Red Sox management realizing after the fantasy culture of playing serious base base in 2012, only he could understand what it takes to get the team back to reality and win it all. Working incognito behind the scenes he made it happen and as a side benefit introduced the beard culture.

So if you can break away from your table and visit the canvas art category, I promise you won't be disappointed with my portrait of this famous man

That's great to hear, Walt! I've been trying to get more people to enter in the toy soldier categories, especially after I joined this forum and saw the kind of work people do. Sure, it's easy to show online, but people really should put their work out, in public, where others can see it live. Online is convenient, but it doesn't completely replace seeing something in person. And the last 2 years, there have been no entries at all. (Well, there was one fellow who took some unpainted plastic figures and arranged them on a base, but that didn't qualify for anything, he didn't do anything with them.) I'm excited that you and Pat have a project in the works, and I look forward to seeing it in a couple of weeks.

Prost!
Brad

Hey Walt and Brad .... VERY exciting to hear the news about the entry.

That is one of the reasons that I am so looking forward to this MFCA show.
First, is of course a Toy Soldier show itself, and second (being an AWI collector) the Valley Forge location.

However, I am really looking forward to see the incredible pieces that you true artist produce.
I am sure it will be a real treat.

BEST of luck Walt. Be sure to introduce yourself at George's tables. --- Larry

Just getting excited - that is all. :smile2:

I'll be there as usual. The trick is getting something finished to enter. I might just end of bringing a bunch of WIPs. I could enter a 1:1 model, but I think he'd massacre the other entries. :wink2:

Andreas, Dave Youngquist from Last Cavalry will be there.

Some spelling nit picks on the artist list...Stephen Mallia and Matt Cexwish :)
