Someone recently mentioned on the forum that they craved a bit more detail for the money when it came to 1/30th scale vehicles. Well, we hope you'll agree that all of our vehicle offerings, and particuarly this one which we're very proud of, fill the niche in the market for those who want ultra-realistic vehicles. So without further adieu, we are proud to present our latest vehicle...this vehicle is to our knowledge, the only 1/30th scale winter vehicle ever produced with Winterketten.

VEH005 1/30th Scale SdKfz 141/1 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf J(Late)
Winter Version with Winterketten

14th Panzer Division, 6th Army, Stalingrad 1942

We are pleased to present you with our next vehicle in our ever expanding Stalingrad range, VEH005 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf J (Late) winter version with Winterketten. The Panzer III was the primary German Tank of 1941-1942. Our version, the J (Late), was armed with the 50mm KwK 39 L/60 gun and two 7.92mm MG 34 machine guns, though ours has a third MG34 setup as an Anti-Air Machine gun for added protection against roving enemy fighters. Our version also includes the 20mm spaced armor on the gun mantlet and front hull superstructure. We have decided to depict the winter version from the 14th Panzer Division which was destroyed at Stalingrad along with the rest of the 6th Army. The tank comes with the crew figure shown resting in the turret and, as with all of our vehicles, he may be displayed both inside and outside of the opening and closing commander's hatch.

VEH005 Panzerkampfwagen III Ausf J (Late) with Winterketten - $299.95

Now available for pre-order, shipping early September 2010.

Didn't see this one coming  Maybe my Favorite Crewman figure so far the two piece reversible Winter Parka set looks Great :) I want one .. Congratulations Matt on yet another fine release . All the best Gebhard

Only thing better then a axis tank is a winterized axis tank!!! I'm all over this one!! it may not be a winter tiger but it will do for now!! looks awesome First Legion, while others are moaning and groaning about scale/color/ insignia/price etc....we are lucky to be have a line like this to choose from, thanks again to First Legion on a homerun!!...Sammy

You must be pretty happy Sammy. As you noted it's not a Tiger but it is a tremendous looking vehicle.

I will be very interested to see what the Russian vehicle looks like.

Very nice Matt. If I liked Tanks, I would love this one.:D Congratulations on another fine AFV.

Simply Awesome...... Matt,.....Is it possible we will see the Grey Stug VEH002 also done in the winter version as well....Can't wait to see winter german infantry as well.....Great release....Thank you

Sammy, I would not be at all surprised if First Legion releases a Winter Tiger....Stalingrad/Lenningrad....That would be a most desireable and long awaited item....Done to the standards of FL it would be one fantastic AFV.....

probably be accused of 'moaning and groaning' about scale etc but, why is there no ammunition drum on the MG34? surely attacking russians would not wait for the commander to get out ammunition out of the tank before attacking?

The winter version is a nice looking vehicle but, agree with Wayne the figure I don't like.
Mitch

$300.00US + shipping no i dont.......................
Nice tho but out of my price range.

Wayne, It's likely comparable in price to "costly re-paints".....Done right the first time...Respectfully.... I don't presume to know your budget or price points...But Oh Man.....This one looks good....nice weathering.....I think the commander figure looks really well done .....most likely other winter soldiers comming.....Who knows what FL has on the horizon for the Winterized Versions....Best Frank

You're not moaning and groaning, fair enough question. However, as for attacking Russians, I assume you're referring to attacking Russian planes, as it's an AAMG. It has 2 other MG34s to deal with infantry, this is a third optional AAMG. An ammunition drum with it's 50 rounds isn't going to do much good when firing at planes. The context is that it would be belt fed and setup when enemy planes are about....hope this addresses your concerns.

Best,

Matt

Perhaps they are out of MG34 ammo? In any event, I do know that if you email Matt, he will address your concern. Scale, I think we have covered in the other thread.:)

That would be a great Christmas present maybe? I'm hoping a winter tiger will be here sooner then later, but now looking forward to some winterized troops to go along with the winter Pz III, the winter sets of most all the manufacturers are my favorite, but now I have some that I can collect from First Legion and looking forward to more winter sets...Sammy

I think you have that reversed mate. He may have surpassed your Blucher count but he is not yet even close to my Peninsula count.:p:D
