VEH013-015 SdKfz 251 Series and German Figures! (1 Viewer)

Certainly a pity if no more half tracks will be released but would certainly purchase several grey/winter Stug and Panzer III if redone

I Completely Agree:salute::.....There is obviously a serious demand for a re-release of the Stalingrad Stugs and Grey Panzer III's ...........I would also like to see a grey Stug III Ausf D(short barrel) assault gun made for Stalingrad....if it is ever done I would definite buy 2 or 3 if Matt and FL would make these available as they could be used in both eastern and western front battles...........We seem to be stuck in "Normandy Mode" at the moment....I think that is where FL is headed for now:(

Holefully FL is stuck in Normandy mode since they haven't releaseed one German tank for Normandy yet.

If the Sd Kfz 251 is so costly to produce; imagine the cost of a Tiger I or Panther A for Normady!
The Honor Bound Panther A and Tiger I are the correct size for FL figures; as has been demonstrated in many photos. Plus the Figarti armor is also size compatable and the Tiger I's Panther G and Russian Armor is excellent.

Matt would be ill advised to invest in armor models that have already been produced to a high standard by other manufacturers in a 1/30 correct scale and available at lower cost. Better to produce unique pieces that have not been done before at a high level of quality. British armor for Africa and Normandy would be good choices IMO.

Although no one ever seems to believe him, Matt has repeatedly stated a FL Tiger/Panther will be less than the M-48 and more in line with regular armor, so it will probably go for $340-$365. They will sell out quickly.

OK Katana, I'm taking the bait here....let's cut to the chase, there are NO Honor Bound tanks to be had ANYWHERE, so you can toss that comparison out the window, also not many Figarti German tanks either, so the notion of availiblity/costs doesn't make much sense when there isn't much available to none at all.

If I'm not mistaken Matt already explained in another of your posts that the prices of a Tiger/Panther (if they were to be made) would be in line or pretty close to what they have been charging in other German armor.

As far as giving advise to who/what Matt should create to be successful???, I think he has a firm grip of the situation at hand of what sells and what doesn't sell for the company he runs, just my opinions here...Sammy

I ever email to Matt and asking about the retired Panzer III and half track and he was saying that he may re-release the half tracks but there is no plan to re-release the Panzer III.

I purchased my Honor Bound Panther A on Ebay. Many Figarti German and Russian tanks are available on Ebay. Hobby Bunker has several postings on Ebay for Figarti tanks! Check it out.

Recently many Normandy Tiger Tanks have been released by Figarti (I have 3 of them priced at $169) as well as Figarti Panthers that work very well with FL figures....Likely that Figarti may re-lease more Panthers relatively soon ...(.But who knows for sure.).....K/C has also released quite a few Tiger tanks recently that are still available....It might be smart for FL to do a Winter King Tiger which has not been done for quite a while or release some grey Stalingrad Stug III's which seem to be in high demand....Time will tell....I am sure that no matter what FL decides it will be produced in LOW NUMBERS and thus should sell out.......There is no doubt in my mind that grey Stalingrad AFV's still sell well, Again if a grey Stug III Ausf D assault gun is ever released put me down for 3 of them.:salute:::salute:::salute::

Yeah, this is a terrible analogy. The tanks are easier to produce as they don't have the large open crew compartments with all the detail in them. They also don't have the fragile rear opening doors, intense radio equipment and other complications.

Part of Matt's post about this was that they take much longer and cost more than the Panzers. He has also said they are making Panthers and Tigers and he does not foresee them being in the $450 range like the M48, but closer to the standard $299 price.

Just to address our overall position on this topic, our view is that if we haven't made it in our way of making it, it hasn't been made yet as far as we are concerned. We aren't going to shy away from things like Panthers and Tigers simply because other companies have already done them. If we did, we'd never produce anything mainstream as someone somewhere has already produced it. Other companies have done many things that we do and we do them anyway because of our unique styling and approach and the fact that many (most) of our customers want OUR figures/models, not someone else's figures/models. It's mostly those that don't collect our products that don't seem to get this! And if someone decides that they already have enough of a various vehicle that we make produced by someone else, well, then that's their choice of course. :smile2:
