Very Bad Packaging (1 Viewer)

How cool is that :) A personal apology straight from the manufacturer. That doesn't happen everyday!!!! What a great hobby :)
Yes, I have experienced that as well with another manufactuer here.:) Too bad it doesn't happen with banks, etc.

My experience mirrors Dougs, the packaging has been very tight - takes ages to get the stuff out, in all the pieces I've had from HB, so I can only guess that someone has had a 'furtle' with the goods between leaving HB and arriving at Treefrogs. Just a shame that either TF or HB have to stand the cost of clumsy and careless customs officials. Would be nice if they could be made accountable.

I ordered and got a tri-color damaged Panther thru Treefrog and was very pleased with the result. Packaging was excellent. The figures were in a seperate box taped to the inside of the vehicle box. All was secure, no damage at all. This was my second Honour Bound purchase and packaging has been first rate.- lancer

I saw a Bergepanther packed in its' box. Man that rascal was screwed in tight. Still, things look like they will be taken care of. Sometimes the inexplicable happen . Sorry it happened to you Alex. Treefroggers Shannon, Mandi, Pete, et al are great people.

Shannon has offered me many options and I'm very happy about how TreeFrog people handle that kind of problem.

Kind regards,

Alex

PS : If it would be possible, i would send a CD filled with information about how to handle toy soldiers to every guy (and girl) working at our canadian customs agency :p

I deal with quite a few dealers, Treefrog and shannon's staff have provided

me with the best customer service of any dealer I use.:)

Things can arrive damaged, many people handle a package when it is

shipped. I have had a couple of issues this year, all shipped from different

dealers. They have all been handled, but none as well as Treefrog!

I couldn't ask for better service!

I think it's very UNFAIR to use this forum as an INITIAL place of complaint. IMO any problems should be fully discussed between the Buyer and the seller, be they a Dealer or Ebay seller, BEFORE anything is mentioned here. It simply IS NOT fair to use this forum as some sort of leverage BEFOREHAND.

As I live in a remote country I depend a great deal on the sellers integrity and professional packaging of items I order because of the costs to return unsatisfactory goods for replacement(s). Treefrog consignments have always arrive well packed. Sometimes I have got the occasional bent barrel etc, but what they hey, "I straighten it". And the Damaged Panthers are almost half price, get real guys ;)

Cool, then it must be time for a 'Group Hug' and a hearty round of 'Kum Ba Yah' around the camp fire :p :D

Btw KV, what does "Steady Old Chap" mean, it's not a phrase we use in Australia, is it another 'American Thang' ;) :D

Steady on ! It is a British movie thang:D:D

Gawds do I hate KBY!

I hate poor packaging as much as the next guy. It's really depressing when you get something that's damaged.

In terms of Honor Bound, I had a winter German ski set arrive with a couple of bent barrels (but there's not any manufacturer out there from whom I have not got bent barrels/shovels from - it's unfortunately par for the course in this fragile hobby). However, my winter cook wagon arrived in pristine condition, which is really a feat of magic and a credit to Honor Bound given how complicated and heavy that set is.

As for voicing concerns about company's products or packaging, I can't think of a better place to do it then a forum. After all, it's the only way the rest of us will ever heard about such issues, and it really encourages the manufacturers to address quality problems so they don't happen again.

I must say that I did sent an email to Treefrog before posting here on the forum but the 2 were not related anyway. I don't think that treefrog has anything to do about the bad packaging ! It's quite the opposite in fact. My point for posting on this forum was to show that for whatever reason, it's possible to get a bad shipment sometimes and then I guess that in this case of Honour Bound, even if the tank is superbly secured to the box (that's not the problem), the figures if they would have been secured in a foam box (eg. like K&C does), I'm pretty sure that I would have received those in perfect conditions. So now let's all dance around the fire and be happy.

Yeah, I agree, I trust Treefrog Completely.

I'm on the fence regarding whether the forum is the right place to deal with issues like this. On the one hand I think the distributor and manufacturer should be given a chance to deal with the issue discretely first to avoid bad publicity but on the other hand CS is right about the forum being a place to share our experiences, both good and bad. Transparency certainly hasn't hurt HB's or TF's credibility in this case.

Now that this matter is resolved satisfactorily, can i crack a wise one Alex? (just for laughs mate)

You did get what you bought -

a DAMAGED panther :)
