Hi All,

Although not strictly a Victorian battle, "Waterloo" is also worth a watch.

The Waterloo production with Rod Steiger as Napoleon and Christopher Plummer as Wellington features the charge of the Royal Scots Greys.

There may be other "Waterloo" productions besides this one.

Best, Raymond.

"Northwest Frontier" with Kenneth More and Lauren Bacall

"In British India, a young prince must be taken to safey across rebel-held territory, and an old train is the only way to do it."

Any FIW movies?
Cheers
Dave

How about:

"The Last of the Mohicans" (several versions, both on film and TV)
"Northwest Passage"
"Drums Along the Mohawk"-no, wait, that's set at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War, so it doesn't count.
How about the miniseries about George Washington, starring Barry Bostwick as Washington? That includes his service in the French and Indian War.

Prost!

Hi All,
Thanks for your submissions so far.
I've just bought a few of them on Ebay !
Some nice evening in view.
Michel

I watched Gunga Din yesterday and in the final scene of the attack of the temple, I saw for the first time elephants carrying gatling gun using a carriage similar to the one of this Steadfast sets.

Isn't that a great scene? Even the music! The movie makers made the Guru look like Gandhi and his "son" ugly and the Indians as Thuggees so that you cheer for Colonialism.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom did much the same.

My Indian co-workers have took me that when Bollywood needed a villain they called for the late Amrish Puri. "'Mogambo Khush hua!" was this guy's' "make my Day."
