Gentlemen

Today - My AK 20 Demag arrived ! :D

After a long search for many months - I was able to win out in an Ebay Shoot Out and bring this wonderful K&C masterpiece home.

I send the encouragement of HOPE to all who have missed retired items in their King and Country Collections. You will find them - hang in there - and wait for your price.

Excuse me as I build a diorama around this long awaited friend. ;)

Cheers,

Ron

Ron, that's great news. Maybe you can help bring me and many others HOPE by listing a few more of the FOB-009 Chars you have stockpiled at a nice buy-it-now price. :)

CAN-SAM..Try the OLDTOYSOLDIERHOME.COM they just picked up some old retired K&C.O.C.

All gone - I turned them into NAPOLEONICS awhile ago :D

Got to love the "free market" - if you like it, if you want it, you can buy it ! ;)

Hi CS-

I wish you good luck in your search for FoB009. Indeed, our good friend CR is only selling rare, long time retired and hard to find (on eBay) items. As he always say it, you won't see this again on eBay for a long time. Your quest will be arduous, that's sure. Again, good luck.

Pierre.

I think $250 is a bargain on this one, it seems to forever in the $300 range for mint in box.

Tom

The prices on this one tend to fluctuate a little bit in the last few month between $190 and $299. $250 probably falls within the average. The only Desert War vehicles that have crossed the $300 mark have been the Rommel Greif and the Matilda.

CS

If you have that Char B 09 - being offered at $250 - I would take it. This tank is very rare on Ebay and is sought after quite a bit by K&C Collectors.

Although it may not be your price - sometimes it is better to spend the extra $10 - $20 to have the piece you want.

But, in the end it is up to you what your bottom line is and where you will stand on your price. I know this from my position on the WINTER TIGER - I simply won't pay $450 ++++ for that piece.

To each their own !

Ron

For some items, it is easy to figure their value (i.e. WS070SL, AK029SL, etc, etc).

For the others, like FoB009, sometimes the sale price is a mystery. I sold one, two month ago for 150,00$, Brad got 138,00$ for his, while another one went for 250,00$.

I guess some factors may explain such a discrepancy like fake bids, ghost bids or false representations by a seller combined with the honesty of the buyers. When it's abnormal, it certainly doesn't represent the real value on the market.

Pierre.

Value on the market for any item is for the last price from the last person who bought it.

This is coupled with the desire, want, need and feelings of the buyer.

All of this is IMHO. :)

Value is equal to what a willing seller would sell for and what a willing buyer would buy for. Although I may not like a certain price, if another buyer comes along and is willing to pay fifty percent more than I would, that is the value for that item at that time. It doesn't necessarily have any precedental value.

I agree 100%

Even with Napoleonic Figures ;)

Has anyone ever come across, ghost bidding etc, I'm relatively new to ebay , less than year, can't say I've come across it but then I'm mainly on the lookout for bargins rather than fighting it out for the rare pieces, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't any of it going on at all.

Hi RD-

Sometimes, I bid on eBay France for graphic novels and some sellers do not accept bids made in the last seconds.

A couple of years ago, eBay issued a warning against that kind of bids (ghost) where the bidder doesn't have the intention to buy the item.

It is also my opinion that when a seller is asking a friend (or anybody he knows) to bid on his auction(s), without the intention to complete the sale but only for the purpose to sell his item(s) at a higher price, the sale price doesn't reflect the market value. It is a fraud. I can't imagine that someone may (or can) justifies that.

It is also my opinion that when a seller is willfully lying on the main caracteristics of his item(s), the sale price doesn't reflect the market value. It is also a fraud. Again, I can't imagine that someone may (or can) justifies that.

Commerce, especially between individuals, should and must be based on good faith and systematically derogating to that will affect the trust of the buyers and will harm all the sellers (who are, most of them, honest).

Accordingly, I totally disagree with my good friend CR when he declares: Value on the market for any item is for the last price from the last person who bought it.This is coupled with the desire, want, need and feelings of the buyer.

This is my opinion, posted with all due respect to all the honourable members of this no less honourable forum.

Pierre Bousquet.

Pierre,

I generally agree with you, except for your disagreement with CR's statement.

On the other hand, it is difficult to know when a friend is bidding to up the price of the item. Over time, the prices should generally be consistent but that's not always the case. I know that when I get questions about a price for a particular K & C item, I tend to discount extremely high and low prices so that you get a statistically more correct result.
