Good evening & Hi

I’m looking to do a small dio which would incorporate the Patton tank and I’m looking to put as many tank riders/seated/crouching figs as possible on the tank. I’ve yet to purchase anything for this project but It would be interesting to see what you fellow Vietnam collectors have done or could show me how many figs it’s actually possible to fit on the the Patton tank. Pics most welcome 🙂

Dan, I'm looking forward to seeing your dio, personally I think some modellers put to many soldiers on tanks including on the engine intakes etc. IMO the most interesting Vietnam dioramas are those that include Vietcong tunnels or even just a tunnel entrance, adds some drama to the scene.

Yes I have seen some recent dio’s that have tunnel systems exposed from the front, they look fantastic, I agree with what you say about the tank riders, I just wanted to see how many could go on, but your right sometimes less is more.

Dan:

I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Many of the K&C Vietnam items serve as great background and side-along pieces. There are many figures taking cover and/or marching along the Patton.

Best,
Jason

Major Dan, here are some pictures of a vignette display I made with K&C’s M48 Patton tank last August. The three tank riders on the rear deck are the VN069 set (originally intended for the M113 ACAV) but more figures could certainly fit on… Hope this helps provide you with some inspiration for your diorama 😃
