Viking's series on the History Channel... (1 Viewer)

Yes I've always been interested in the vikings.A 5 part series on the bible starts also right before the vikings.

Looks good we might get it by June.......................^&grin

don't know if anyone caught this...but it's off to a great start...episode 2 is Monday night...then thwy will go weekly I think...

it's very well done so far...

Way better than The Bible preceding it. I did see plot elements of Kirk Douglas' The Vikings and even more from Richard Widmark's The Long Ships. So far, this series is pretty good.

"Vikings is a historical drama series created by Michael Hirst and produced for the American cable television channel History.[SUP][1][/SUP] Filmed in Ireland, the series is inspired by the epic saga of Viking King Ragnar Lodbrok.[SUP][2][/SUP] "

"In The Vikings, a film of 1958, Ragnar, played by Ernest Borgnine, is captured by King Aella of Northumbria and cast into a pit of ferocious dogs. His son Einar (presumably a variation of the historical Ivar), played by Kirk Douglas, vows revenge and conquers Northumbria.[SUP][6]"[/SUP]

Thought episode 1 was interesting enough to come back for #2. -- Al

So far I have really enjoyed the series too. Boy, the captured Monk really missed his chance lsat night didn't he  . . . . . During the closing minutes of last nights episode, those Vickings certainly went through those early Britons like a dose of salts {eek3} . . . .

A lot of stations starting to develop their own original series.Sundance has one called Top of the Lake.A&E has Bates Motel.I think the success of The Hatfields and McCoys got the ball rolling.

Great series!

Maybe it could inspire some of the manufacturers to put out a Viking line! :)

Pretty good. I'm not wild about it, but it's building up.
