Agreed . . . other than the painting (which left something to be desired), TAW produced some fine pieces. Fortunately, I have a number of their vehicles which I bought unfinished and painted. Does anyone know if someone purchased the molds? My recollection is that an Aussie or Kiwi did, but I'm not sure.

Hi Al,
It was someone in Australia.. but this person did a poor job in trying to relaunch the business...never actually came out into the market with a decent proposal.....To cut the story short...after trying to start the business he died and we never heard of the moulds again.........

I totally concur. In second place for Glossy WWI, I might select Britain's Premier Series commissioned from Charles Biggs, and possibly tied with Trophy of Wales WWI figures..

After my trip to Vienna last month and visiting the Austrian Army Museum I came back home determined to paint a few Austrian WW1 era figures that I bought on EBay from John Eden earlier this year.

They were in a dozen lot of recasts of Stadden figures which were listed as Kaiser and generals, but on closer inspection I found these 3 from the Hapsburg court.



They are: Officer Arcieren Lifeguard, Emperor Franz Joseph and a Uhlan officer.

I know that its not exactly WW1, but it is the lead up to the Great War, so I hope you like this addition to this thread.

I still have The Kaiser and his generals to come.... but that's a little way off .....

....in the WW1 Slide there are 3 Hope and one unknown Russian manufacturer that made a nice British officer, one 18 pdr made by Henchliffe and an Australian garrison by Roseminiatures:salute:::salute:::salute::

We have seen and spoken a lot about Colonial troops and their contribution to WW1 and the later Wars....Due to this lack of offerings by the major manufacturers it seems to the general public and many collectors that India and other members of the Empire other than Canada, Austrália and New Zealand were not active in the conflicts.....Well that needs to be fixed, India provided one of the largest contingentes and for that reason I had John Eden and some luck with Mountford provide me with a small token contribution and later on asked Obee to bring them to life and now I share them with you....
They are great add ons for WW1 and Northwestern Forntier dios.....look forward that you all enjoy...
