Hi Guys,

As we all know every collector (me included) has a list as long as your arm of “pet items” they would like to see produced… occasionally regardless of cost or any other kind of regardless of cost or any other kind of restriction.

Sometimes these “wants, needs or must-haves” are followed up with the two following statements… “I’d certainly buy one” and… “If the price is right!

Whilst I love and share the enthusiasm many collectors have for the hobby I often find that it can “blinker” the judgement on just how popular any one collector’s “pet project” might actually be in the market place.

If, as on certain occasions, K&C and yours truly tries to explain the reasons why we cannot or will not produce something then we will be accused of “surrending the initiative” to another company.

Over the years I have learned the obvious… “It’s impossible to please all of the people all of the time”. However I do my level best to give every suggestion, thought and idea from collectors a fair hearing and considered judgement before K&C make a final judgement. Even then an idea or suggestion that might be rejected at one time (and in several cases have been) maybe resurrected, reconsidered and finally put on a production schedule at a later date.

As you guys know K&C (and every other manufacturer) gets hundreds of ideas from collectors all the time. We’ve also got more than a few of our own… The trick is to know which ones are the diamonds and which ones are… Well, you get the general picture.

If your “pet project” hasn’t been developed recently… I apologize. If it has… then your cheque is in the post!

Best wishes and happy collecting!

Andy C.

Thanks for posting Andy, speaking for myself only, quite often the enthusiasm for the hobby gets the better of me, mostly its just shooting the breeze and not actually requesting it or expecting it to be made, if that makes any sense!.:)

Cheers

Rob

Well said Andy....what one manufacturer does not produce....another manufacturer will opt to produce and market......It all comes down to decisions and choices......these days there are many choices both for the manufacturer and the collector....We are truely fortunate for all the diversity available today in this hobby

So far, all of my suggestions/demands have been produced by you, and if not by you, then by Figarti. (Rick must read your mail :D) But then, I don't suggest very many models - it is hard enough to keep up with the new offerings as it is.

Besides, part of the enjoyment of collecting is seeing what you come out with each month - like Christmas 12 times a year.

I suppose now that you are back, I better get re-used to never getting the last word again. :D:D

Besides - I got my Leningrad Tiger, the start of my Italian North Afrika armour, and several Russian AFVs and artillery. Quite a good haul. And now I'm campaigning for a few new items, one of which I am pretty sure will show up in 2011- also from Italian North Afrika, Eastern Front and Fields of Battle.

:D

And who knows...someone else may be asking for them too mate!:D;)

Apologies to Andy for my over- enthusiasm

I just get the s**ts when I see retired stuff from 10 years ago when I wasnt collecting (or aware of) K&C that I realise I need.

Marketting is (partly) listening to market needs as expressed by consumers. It may be possible that something I want may also be wanted by others (I hope that doesnt sound too egocentric as that is not intended).

I've also tried to not request something that has been retired eg Russian and French gun tractors have not been done.

Well I'll now retreat back to the Land downunder and await the November set of dispatches ...... and then have another whinge :):):)

cheers

The ''want'' list for the short time I have been on here have been quite narrow in their requests especially in relation to WWII. Collectors have been asking for large german armour and stuff in Panzer grey.

With the advent of the 250 series is this not the perfect option to address those collectors ''want'' lists which, for whatever reason have not seemed profitable or popular enough to K&C

Surely, such a small edition will make almost any release a winner??

Mitch, a couple of years back one well known member was famous for his lists, they were both frequent and extensive, some thought them fun and some hated them. They became part of the very fabric of the forum, in fact they were so numerous and annoying to some that the suggestions area was created!:)

Rob...

Thanks for the update. Learn something new about the forum everyday. I know some are flights of fancy (no disrespect to anyone) but, some have real potential. What I have seen recently has been grey armour and jagdpather and jadgtiger so, hopefully, the 250 series will address such things before another manufacturer jumps in.

Wouldn't you just love to be at one of K&C's planning meetings?!. Andy, if you need anyone to bring in the tea and chocolate biscuits, i'm there;):D

I think we will see a Jagdpanther in the regular lineup, probably next year. Ambush camo would do quite nicely, thank you!:)

Hi,
My WWII "want" list is long, maybe too long. Each month I am looking forward for the new releases. Each month there are a few items that are of interest to me. Why, because I immediately see the figurines or AFV's in a dio. I buy ( certainly not every piece that comes on the market) and I store until the moment has come that I have gathered everything I need to make the dio I had in mind. If I have to wait one month, one year, or longer it does not matter.I take it as it comes. All I can say is that K&C has put on the market a lot - and by this I mean- an enormous amount of interesting items in the past year. Much more than any other competitor. Carry on K&C I love the way you work.I do not understand those who complain.
Suggestions are ok, but running a business is much more than relying only on suggestions.
guy:)

I've never really put in a request from K&C. I just enjoy the amount and variety of items they come up with each month. There always seems to be something I "must have".:)

Only thing I have ever wanted to see in 1/30th would be a Jagdtiger

Then would you pls suggest Life Guards for the Naps line? ;)

I always try to be realistic with my ideas and lists. I look at what KC has produced in the past and I keep in mind what Andy reports to us about sales and his production trends. There's always gonna be something that I wish for, but I'm pretty happy with what KC has done so far.

Seriously though, I want some Winter FJ's.
