If it is, in fact, true that JJ intends to make a War of 1812 series, do we know what will be featured, in terms of battles, units? Are there any concept images?

Simon posted pictures under the London show thread. The first sets due in February will be from the Battle of Chippawa.

Reading from Don Troiani's Soldiers in America 1754-1865 the Scott's Brigade is said to be perhaps the most famous corps in the early military annals of the US. They not only stood up to the veteran British regiments, including some who had served under Wellington in the Peninsula, but bested them on the open field.

I guessed Chippewa since that is what they are famous for. Lundy's Lane followed in the same month. Both of these battles were in the Niagara campaigns which included Queenston Heights 1812 - Fort George 1813 - Stoney Creek 1813 - Beaver Dams 1813 - Fort Niagara 1814 - 1st Fort Erie - Chippawa - Lundy's Lane 1814 - Cook's Mills 1814 - 2nd Fort Erie 1814.

British in some of these battles were the 104th or New Brunswick Regiment of Foot and would make great looking figures.

The nice thing about the War of 1812 is that some of the units that fought there were also in the Napoleonic Wars. More figures! Yeah!

Yes KV .. the new JJ series for 1812 will add to sorely needed Napoleonic troops.

I have held off plunging into JJ's releases for a long time ... but the will has crumbled with the new releases.

I was wondering how JJ's stack up to K&C sizewise ? Could you be kind enough to post some pics of JJ's latest Quebec British side by side with K&C's American War of Independence.

Your help is appreciated.

Guys,
Has the battle of Chippewa been confirmed as the next series or is it possible that it will be the battle of Lundy’s lane? When I first saw the pictures I assumed that it was the battle of Chippewa but after looking at the figures again they seem to have more of a defensive position. If it was the battle of Chippewa I would expect to see Scott’s men posed as if they were advancing like the painting. It’s just a thought.

A poster on the Canada forum who was at the London show indicated chippawa (or is it chippewa?).

WOW !!

I went to the London Show Thread and what great figures those 1812 Guys are !! :D

Can't wait to get my hands on those !!

If somebody has time, can a link be posted to the photos? Thanks.:)

Nevermind, I found them. I am assuming JJ has a good website like some of the other companies, but I cannot find it.

I found the site through the link but I dont see 1812 figures any where can someone lead me in the right direction..

I recall February being mentioned in one of these threads. I think Jan and Feb will be a bumper crop of new sets. Hope so.

Same here. I tried to satisfy myself with the Britains Americana US Marines and 9th Infantry, but it could have been done better.

Note to JJ:
Rest assured that I will definitely pour a great deal of money into this series!

Nice to see some new blood among JJ collectors. It is the best thing going in my opinion. Hopefully you get a chance to the see the French-Indian line as the style is just a bit different from KC. They work together, but JJ is more "old-school" toy soldier. Sierra also has a nice JJ sight and usual gets pics of the new stuff up before John. I wouldn't expect any official pictures of the 1812 sets until January though. I believe John has an unofficial email list and sometimes distributes a few pictures via that method.

I have always liked JJs figures, but I have never purchased any simply because the Napoleonic era was (is) constantly draining my wallet.

I am eager to get my hands on these new figures, though.
