War of 1812? (2 Viewers)

Guys

Thanks for the links ... nice. Cant wait until JJD comes out with 1812 redcoats.

Perhaps X'mas 2008

OD

Well X'mas came a little early this year ... have just received the new 1812 Redcoats and they are very good looking pieces. Fit right in with K&C's Napoleonic British guards. Will try to post pics later.

Can't wait to get more of these JJD redcoats. Has John ever mentioned what else may be in store for this range ?

Wow! Just openend a parcel of the Royal Scots sets arrived today from the Reusses. These are really nice looking figures. Hats off to John once again. Looking forward to more of these guys in the coming months. :)

Battle of Queenston Heights would get me onboard. Always loved this image of the dying General Brock. Canadians, British, Indians & Americans involved. Closest thing to the FIW. Small British/Canadian/Indina force pushes back large American invasion force. Brilliant military upset moment. Jenkins does this I'm in. ssorc1

I'd also love to see some sort of New Orleans range down the road as well. Lots of colorful characters and personalities to choose from: Andrew Jackson, Sir Edward Pakenham, the 93rd Highlanders, Pirates, Native Americans, etc......could be really cool.

Check out this cool looking old set by Britains....I'll bet John could come up with something really nice along these lines too.

In the meantime I think I'll keep my eyes open for a good price on this version...

I think stock is still pretty good for most of these, so don't panic just yet. Good choice I'd say though. I had most of these earlier sets right away....sold a couple to raise some cash, but am now working on finishing the line. No weaklings in this range either....each set and figure is a real gem....very sharp and as with all JJD figures I really like the weight and heft of these guys.

Might be the smartest thing to collect. 1812 has just as much colour and interest and potential. Not sure how much time Jenkins can put in though with the Jacobites as well? 500 sets is prefect though, that I can agree with. Leaves some room for new collectors to get involved and still be able to pick up the series. Again, get me Queenston Heights or a few sets based on the Buccaneer and I'd cave in. Love the Britains set too. How old is that one? Cheers, ssorc1

The Britains set was a 2004 release I believe. This is probably the best looking one of the entire Americana range that was done I think.

I suspect the Chippewa line will continue to slowly evolve for a while yet....need more of the British and hopefully an artillery set based on the history of this engagement too.
