Waterloo Campaign. (3 Viewers)

Good photo shots Steve. Always like artillery and horse limbers, they are the iconic pieces in battle scenes. You have a fine collection. Robin.

Thanks Robin, still have many gaps in the collection to be filled, but getting there bit by bit and of course camera angles do help hide what's missing !

I'm sure the Royal Foot Artillery won't be letting Napoleon have it all his way for long !

Steve, great images of the diorama, great perspective on the artillery being moved into position. Chris

Steve,

who makes the horse team and rider who is brining up the guns? Looks very animated....

Hi John
It certainly does.
I bought the Cannons, Limber, horses and riders, though it was obvious to me it wasn't complete on ebay from France, no boxes, seller had thought they were Atlas editions or Del Prado.
After spending a hour or so on the internet a few days ago when they arrived, I finally found the producer as Andrea Miniatures:

Glad I managed to pick these parts of the set as they blend in.
Since they do come in kits, could well suit you !

Having now just looked at the prices of these kits and the completed and painted ones, I'm even more pleased with what I got on ebay !
I'll be keeping my eyes peeled, when more come up on ebay as I have seen a couple of these in the past.

Yes, a nice looking kits, but did you see the asking price !!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a similar set awaiting assembly and a 'lick of paint' from Hinchcliffe ... maybe I should get stuck into that soon,

Yeah it did make me a bit light headed when I saw the price !{eek3}

I picked up 4 Cannon, a limber, three horses and an extra Del Prado Brit cannon for about £50 including shipping. Was a good deal a think.
Yep, if I was any good at painting, Hinchcliffe would of been the answer for me too.

Both allied and French troops can hear the guns of the Prussians and French locked in combat just a few miles away. Here at Quatre Bras the roar of the French Artillery companies and the few Dutch-Belgian ones are joined by those of the British.

Guns and Gunners. .... just what I like to see ☺

Even better when it's Napoleonic Artillery. .....

Well done

John

Nice battery! Thanks for sharing it with us! What's next the RHA?

Cheers,

Brendan

Glad you like them.
I do wish manufacturers would make enough gunners to serve the guns though for all sides, I can see adding to sets would make them very expensive and put people off, but if sold individually we could add to our crews as and when.

Picture this time a mixture of WB and JJD.

Hi Brendan
You're welcome.
Alas at the moment that is one of the holes in my collection, but am looking to fill it !
Steve

Steve, that is a great looking battery and love the additional limber in the background. I agree that it would be nice if manufacturers would sell everything to complete a battery and not just the gun and the immediate crew. Chris

Haven't you seen what K&C has now done with their latest releases of both British and French Foot Artillery ????

You can buy the gunners as single or paired figures, and guns individually, the same as John Jenkins. Its the best way to go, and makes it much easier on the budget :)

Hi John
Yes it's a good option, though for myself, whilst I don't mind mixing manufacturers, I do try to keep them of a very similar size so that they work together. But in the case of RHA, I suspect that I may well go with some larger sized figures.

The 44th Foot similarly caught in the open like the 42nd by French cavalry, but in line don't even have time to form square. Their commander orders the rear rank to about face and opens with volley fire. This sees off the cavalry charge but not before some of the Lancers break into the line and a furious fight for the Regiments Colours ensue.
Ensign Christie entrusted with the Regimental Colour is severely wounded with a lance point entering his eye and exciting through his mouth yet despite these terrible wounds thwarts the lancers by throwing himself to the ground over the colours. One of these lancers manages to tear a scrap from the flag, but pays for it with his life shot and bayoneted his brave attempt at glory ending in his death.

Steve

All figures Britains.
