Thank you Greg. One of the things with a scene I'm finding that because of the amount of figures used in battle scenes that quite a bit of room is needed. A fairly compact scene with plenty of action and interest I think are the attacks and defences of the Fortified farms and of course you don't have to do the whole farm just concentrate on a particular bit such as the Gate and piggery at La Haye Sainte, which I'm thinking of do a take on at a later date when I get that far in the battle !

Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas and New year and the same to all the Treefroggers on the forum. Lets hope that 2017 sees a more peaceful world !

My last photos of some scenes of the battle of Quatre Bras on the 16th June 1815 finds a small French bivouac near Frasnes where the French under Ney have withdrawn to. Night has fallen and wounded troops able to make it are still arriving in drips and drabs.
Each Regiment was allowed four official Cantinieres.Usually these women had husbands in the Regiment and were Sutlers who sold things such as Brandy to the troops.

Already planning some scenes for the 17th June to follow in the new year.

I see that you are using some of the same figures that I have recently painted:

Cantiniere on the left

and the Wagon and fusilier turning the chicken on the spit, both by MHSP

Thanks John and yes as you say MHSP though you're far more skilled with the paintbrush then myself.
Their carts etc fit in well with 1.30 scale figures I think. Shame their figures don't so much and the sculpting could of been better, but for the price one can pick them up and the practice they give a newcomer to painting such as myself, they are good value.
The EK castings Cantiniere is a really great piece of sculpting and with our different choices in our own choice of colour palette it gives the figures a bit of individuality.
Who do the other Cantinieres in the photo of the trio John ?

the central figures is by HISTOREX a plastic figures, and the one on the right is by ANT Miniatures, a Russian maker.

This one is by New Hope design and she's from the Light Infantry

These two are from John Eden, and by ROSE

This lady by Alexanders Toy Soldiers

and this lady, amongst the Chasseurs a Cheval is by ROSE
