The coming 2012 WWI releases of 1916 British Tommies and trench system should please fans of Downton Abbey whose 2nd season included the 1916 Battle of the Sommes. Now if we can only get some DA figures back at the Abbey to go with them. ^&grin

During the War Downton Abbey like many British estates served as a hospital during the war.

These new figures look very impressive. For Downton Abby fans they can represent members of the Duke of Manchester's Regiment (not the guy in a kilt obviously)!

The Black Watch figure is a new addition to the Museum Collection which nicely fills a historical gap in that collection.

In the Trenches
Dan Stevens (Matthew) says, "The war scenes were very exciting to film. There was a network of trenches and it was amazingly authentic and incredibly muddy. It really gave you a sense of the environment — going over the top, guns firing, bombs exploding, men shouting and all the while the cameras are rolling. The adrenaline really went — it wasn't so much the noise of the bombs as that you could feel it in your chest. And then you would look up at the end of the take to see the crew completely covered in ash."

They are all excellent releases Randy & I'm trying my hardest to find places to fit them in, I really want them in my collection!

Craig

The WWI look really great and I think the figure on the ladder will be a sellout !! I cannot add another range to my collection otherwise my life will become very short {eek3} but I would start this series if I could.

ARE THESE ALL 2012 RELEASES??? Man I like these!!!!^&cool^&cool

Randy,

These are nice figures and I love how you tied them into Downton Abbey. The association goes very well. Oh, that Britains would do a Downton Abbey range given the popularity of the series and the upcoming anniversary of WW1.

Randy, I don't need any more temptations and your wonderful thread posted here with photos featuring WB Tommies and Downtown Abbey is not helping. I am seriously thinking about collecting the WWI range . . . . it just keeps getting better and better and it certainly appears that WB is committed to providing the collector a wonderful range that will be supported and expanded upon.
