You can still get Sgt. Rock Comics cheap on ebay - the value on them never went up for some reason? Great Stuff - if you love WWII - the story lines are really fun to read.

Hi Ron, I can't remember seeing any Sgt Rock comics when I was a kid, I guess I was to focused on buying the latest Commando war comic. I used to buy Battle and a few of the other Brit brands but Commando were always my favorite. I think it was because the Commando comics had a plainer layout with more realistic illustrations.

I never saw the Commando Comics - British Comics?

Check out some of the Sgt. Rock Comics - really wild stories - very fictional in every sense - but, a lot of fun. :)

Ron, yep, Commando, and the similar War and Battle comics were printed in Britain and are only 7 x 5 1/2 inches in size compared to the normal sized A4 (I think) comics:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commando_Comics

These were the only British printed comics I bought as a kid and my brother and I accumulated several hundred over the years but they seemed to have disapered, but my brother denies taking them - yeah right ;) When my first son was born I decided to get some more Commando comics and now have several based on Aussie army guys and RAAF. My American comic favs were Superman, Spiderman, The Phantom, the Fantastic 4 etc and Dennis the Menace.

Man, I used to have the number 1 issue of daredevil, but I'n afraid he went the way of most of my toys and baseball cards.

Anyone remember the Ghost Tank series?

As I recall, the storey lines were always the same. Beleagured Allies on their last ammo and strength would be aghast to see an unearthly spectre, a Sherman tank flying Confederate colors that would roll in, slay all the enemy and then disappear.

Wierd, but great artwork and lost of those dramatic "Uuunnh!"s and "Aaaargh!"s spelled out like in the Batman comics.

:)
I still have a couple of those. Yeah, the tank has a patron guardian angel watching over it who just happens to be a dead confederate general. Just pretty out there plot lines though, one of the issues I have is about a Nazi plot to assisanate Patton by cloning the tank commander or something like that.
