Were you disappointed in 2010 by K&C. (1 Viewer)

Well, I was hoping for something on the Ancient Egyptian front. Didn't someone post something about the AE line next year?

Yeah, I was too. I thought we would have seen something. But, I believe the line is in good shape and we will see something in the near future ;)

Hi Sans Culotte,

Based on a conversation I had with Andy in Chicago last September, it is my understanding that new AE figures will be released in 2011. Like yourself, I very much look forward to these new figures.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Great news, indeed!:D Of any of the toy/model figures in my collection(s), the AE figures are the greatest crowd pleasers. Friends & family who otherwise have little to no interest in my other figures, always enjoy the AE ones. Their images are stored on a jump drive that I used last winter when I gave a presentation on Ancient Egypt to some middle school kids. I hope that Andy didn't mind the little sales pitch on his behalf!:D:D

there were some great things for 2010......RAF for one ....but would REALLY like to see some Egyptians for sure ...and maybe a new line of Ancients:D

Everything I bought from them was great...I just hope we might see some new Crusaders in the near future...

It seems a lot of people want to see the ancient Eyptians. I have never bought this line but to be honest, I love it too and still may get into it a bit. It is nice to have a great looking non-war series. I like the Orient figures for the same reason. I can see why they appeal to a wide range of people.

Disappointed HELL NO
The Spit and the girls, RAF series
The Bulge series with winter ambulance
The ME109 with AK
Hope 2011 will bring more girls

RAF pieces really did it for me. Everytime I walk by my displays and see that damm Tilley, I get a shot of pure excitement. The Lincoln/Generals were also a sentinel set for me as well

I do agree Walt, the Tillys were an excellent release this year, I tried sticking with just two but soon folded and got the third. Really looking forward to whats coming next in this 250 series, I think its a great idea.

I think if you were dissapointed by 2010 then you may just be in the wrong hobby IMO

Yeah, I must be, funny how I didn't realize the errors of my ways over the past decade- all those figures in all those lines- Yanks, WW2, Romans, Barbarians,Iwo,Russians, SF, AWI, etc. Always said I was a little slow to get the point. :D:p:p

Not Disappointed... but at times a bit bored;)....The WWII aircraft releases were their best and most innovative efforts for WWII... well done....Mostly dissappointed in "policy and attitude"....but then again we do have choices these days...no need for us to start our own toy soldier company....K/C already has enough serious competition;)

I'm probably missing something seminal here, but I'm not entirely sure what the references to 'policy and attitude' are alluding to, precisely

The only thing I'm 'unhappy' about, and it's been mentioned by others already, is that my wish list keeps getting longer whilst my pockets are certainly not getting any deeper :(

I'm a bit like one or two others on the forum, insofar as I seem to be playing catch up all the time. I rarely buy a figure as it's released, and where K+C are concerned, most of my purchases tend to be made as items become retired, so I can work my through the back catalogue so to speak in a methodical manner

I collect solely WW2 and Berlin '38 and am pleased as punch with the releases this year - the agony and the ecstasy of a growing wants list - what a hobby

I collect only Medieval figures and there were no medieval figures released this year. However, there were excellent buildings released in the Desert Village series, which ties in well with the Medieval Crusades. So I'd have to say I was disappointed with K&Cs figure releases, but quite pleased with their diorama releases.

Richard...

Some of the policy issues etc were about cost and the way the prices were recently raised on older items and some of the issues surrounding dealers selling items cheaper than they should have and, the way Andy often speaks his mind.

I think the catch up bit and the dread of missing something in discontinued is part of the appeal of the hobby it would be rather dull if we all had the money to buy each and everything we wanted immediately when it came out

WWII and Berlin 38 especially have seen some fantastic releases in 2010 and will see further excellent releases in 2011

Merry Christams

As with any company there were some pluses and minuses, the pluses being the airplanes, particularly the Me 109 -- the best done to date in my humble opinion -- and the RAF range and the American Civil War. The principal minus was the announcement of the SA figures. However, this was counterbalanced for me by the announcement of some potential glossy figures. So, overall a good year.

Forgot to mention the diorama pieces. Those were superb. I don't see how anybody could top those. I have the AK watchtower and it's a tremendous pieces. Kudos to Andy and his team on those.

I also only collect crusaders/saracens. no crusaders this year? what a shame! I hope they come out with some great pieces this coming feb.

Fireflies, Landing craft, Spitfires, FW190's, RAF figures, Arnhem figures, Tilly's, Snow Tigers, Bulge figures and vehicles, AK figures and ME109....looking back on 2010,if disappointed really means very very Happy, then...

I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED!:D

ROLL ON 2011 GUYS,ALREADY LOOKS LIKE ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER GOOD ONE!
